The Advance Auto near my house accepts used coolant. I think a lot of Advance stores do.

The coolant company's have worked out that you will have water trapped in the block or in the system after a radiator drain,,hence the 50/50 mixes you can purchase,,otherwise they wouldn't put there name on the product and then on the shelf. Although it says right on the jug that you can use it for a refill, they consider the 50/50 mixes as a "top off" fluid after you have set up the correct ratio with full strength non-dilluted as required or recommended by the/most vehicle manuf. Have talked to several reps at trade and jobber shows and they all say the same thing. Something to to carry in the emerg tool kit in the back per say for a top off if needed,,keeping the formula the same.

Straight clear water is THE BEST way to cool your motor. It strips the heat away faster than anything else,,,period!. Redline Water Wetter does in fact drop the temps a bit more when added to straight water,,been there done that,,bought and sold the shirt. Of course, there are several problems with straight water that you all are aware of I hope.

Have read Sam Walton's book and it's not to bad. He was taking s*** from his import store right off the bat,,it didn't just happen overnight that people love to hate Wal Mart. Do some of you remember the Bonanza 88¢ stores that you went into as a kid with mom?,,cheap candy and comics,,neat little plastic toys?,,yup,,all import stuff for the most part. Importing from china didn't happen overnight. A very wise smart man once said,,"Doesn't matter if they are booing or cheering,,so long as they are making noise,,Noise sells product!". (RIP Dale Earnhardt). Unless you go off the grid and live the wildlife sustenance lifestyle,, we are all bound by import stores,,sadly. Love them or hate them,,you need those stores.

Right, which is why I go 50/50 on my "flush", as that leaves no concern. I never use just water in the flush process.

I accidentally re-filled with non diluted coolant on my final fill, as the bottle looked similar and was next to the 50/50 on the shelf. Ran hot! As soon as I drained that out and did the mix all was good again.
