The photo isn’t my rig but I’m looking to build mine out. I want a low profile bed rack with a rooftop tent. But I also want to set up a 270 awning on the cab rack. Not sure if that will all fit together. All the photos I see out there have a mid height or full height bed rack with a 270.

Also- if I do get a mid height, not sure how I can store it during the winter. I have floor space in my garage but no space on the ceiling of my garage. That’s the main reason I’m looking at low profile rack. So I only have to worry about the rt. Maybe keep it on a saw horse when not in use.

    thanks for you help everyone

270 Awnings are generally pretty long. We have a CVT 270 awning, and the closed length is 79", so you're going to want to mount it up high so it doesn't interfere with your doors.

This is the CVT awning mounted on our CXR bed rack with our universal awning mounts.

This is my Tuff Stuff 270 awning. It is attached to the HD crossbars on top of the camper shell. I agree with above that you want it to be higher than your doors/cab. Otherwise you’ll likely have to duck while you’re under it which would get annoying.

You can do a 270 on a mid height rack. I did it with a KB Voodoo one. Their awning mounts plus some counter brackets. Just get long enough ones to clear the rear door.

And when I had an older / lighter setup, I would hang it from the garage ceiling above my wife's car. Used the wood as a safety so to speak.
