Junkyard can be searched for switch panel and cut for switch swap. Or used to scan new holder for print.

Understood - I was saying it’s fairly easy to remove the face plate, and maybe the OP can try the swap and see what is involved, or if it is a no-go.

Another option at the junkyard is to purchase a Auto A/C panel from a push-to-start Taco that is 2WD, then relocate the 4WD switch.

Anything is possible with time, money, and enough knowledge.

But, it's not worth it in this case.

It's better to just develop muscle memory to get used to it

interestingly, after 2 years, i'm still not used to it. i still mash the 4x4 button more times than i'd prefer. i think it has to do with line of sight from the drivers seat.

i'm in agreement with what the OP wants to do, it's just not a small task unfortunately...

Doubt the wiring harness will be long enough. But chances are, it's just a mother board behind it all, not even wiring.

My issue with the stock Start button was not a proximity thing, but more of a visual thing as it looked just like the 4WD switch right next to it. The MESO red replacement button did a great job making the launch button really stand out.

Why not put a Start button on the steering wheel?
    IMG_2635.jpg
The Spiral Cable of my OR has at least three, if not four unused, conductors available for additions.

Electrically all that is necessary is to ground the SS1 & SS2 leads to the AGRD. Both at the same time. With the use of some diodes it can be done with a simple SPST momentary push button switch.

I have done the same with the fan and 4 wheel myself, not a bad idea, but I’m in my 60’s so I just use that excuse

I'm an old guy with poor vision. I just got a red start/stop sticker. Works fine for me and price was right.

To 100% solve any confusion one could go to town, stop at tractor supply, and for $17.99 get a starter switch that one or two of us had on our tractors growing up.
I guarantee all 'which one is my starter' questions will cease and desist.
And no - I have no earthly idea how one would swap out your newfangled push-button contraptions for this.
I always find these to be interesting conversations and am amazed at the complexity of something the key on my 2021 SR5 does.

That only works if you pull the choke, pump the gas twice, wait five seconds, and -then- hit the starter.

Or… you could add it inline with the starter. Gotta press both to start.

The Start button is in a blind spot for me, I have a driven rentals and the Start button is in a better spot. When the GF did borrow my truck, I did warn her not to twist the 4WD knob, as I could see that happening. She won't drive it anymore because the "camper shell" makes it look like an "old man's car". Mission accomplished :D

Kinda similar to high beam switch on the floor in the old classic cars.
