Maybe I'm not searching correctly but I'm not seeing anything.

Would love to upgrade to the 4.2 in information center the other models have.

I'm thinking that this is going in the "if you want that stuff, you should have gotten a higher model" category.

    Just sayin'

Nah, to squash that right off the bat, I bought the Sr because I'm going to upgrade almost everything the upper models offer anyways with cheaper Superior parts.

But I'm researching and still nothing. Thinking it may not be possible or at least cheaply attainable.

I’m sure it’s possible, but would probably involve swapping the whole gauge cluster and I imagine would not be cheap or easy.

I remember a thread a while back with an attempt to swap the sr5 dash into the sr but it never got anywhere.

Gauge clusters are cheap on ebay. The issue is they would have to be programmed with your current mileage.
And yes you will have better stuff then the higher models.
Just make sure you have keyless entry etc.
The head unit can be replaced with an upper end unit with Waze , carplay/android auto, dvd movies etc. It even shows tire pressures, door opens, etc.
Get torque and measure mpg, trans temp etc on a small mounted anroid display.
Fogs, shocks, tires, rims, flares, everything top notch.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Which should continue to be your theme.

Aftermarket offers every function you want, better, cheaper. Just not with the OE presence.

Thanks, appreciate the info. Any idea how to go about programming a gauge cluster?

You should have stepped up to an SR5 at least, I know a SR owner here mentioned the idea but it likely involves more than just a cluster swap.
All the info displayed has to come from somewhere ie. a ECM,BCM or similar unit. There's no telling if the SR is even wired enough to drive that display unfortunately.

I traded the off road in for an 08 escape for financial reasons. Unfortunately it was unwarranted because I'm doing great financially now and worried for no reason.

My awesome grandparents did me good and bought my escape for what I owed. I gifted it to them so they got a decent deal without paying taxes.

Just thinking back when I owned my off road, this is the way I wanted to do it and I wanted that 6 foot bed as well. So honestly I haven't lost out on any money and have the rig I should have got in the first place. Feel pretty lucky.

Ya, this was just some off thing I was looking at. Probably won't even think about it again once I update the head unit and have those extra gadgets to play with.

Hopefully this can be informative to someone else in the future or maybe me, if it is a possible affordable process.

I know the dealer said they legally they have to keep the vehicle in the shop until they send the cluster away and get it back programmed.
It has to do with making sure people don't tamper with the mileage.
I think the dealer would be the best bet to actually swap out the gauge cluster you bought. Now if that's all you need I am not sure.
I think there is a module that costs about $100 that interface with it from what I remember.
Gauges are about $150 on ebay, module if needed $100, and dealer costs just for a guess.

It is only one serial wire interface, like an obdii/can serial transmission. Nothing complicated. Look at tha back of the different clusters on ebay and see.
Not worth the thousands extra they charge.

Maybe I'll call the dealer and see what they say.
