Bilstien shocks toy tec lift Brush guard / Helwig 1250 Helpers

My new 5100 Billys came today for my 02 Tacoma extra cab. TRD , have the springs on order. Papers with the shocks say if you use the 2" lift notch to install the spacer washers under the bumpers on the lower arms. Now i'm not looking to do rock crawling just off road for hunting etc. .So i can't see if this is really necessary. what you say. ~~OBT~~
