The time for your possible frame replacement is or has already run out. 12 years from the date it was originally sold and registered. I'd be checking into this ASAP.

all 08's are out of warranty. That truck is a lost cause my friend. i bet you could poke your finger through the corner of the cab mount by now. I have seen many with the consistency of top soil.

Granted that I have moved around a bit, but I'm on my second salt state with this truck(3rd cold weather state, but AK didn't salt), and I have no rust on mine.

I see this was posted Wednesday, but if you haven't replaced it already then spray the threaded portion and nut now...before you take it off. I'd look at the other side and possibly change both a pair might not be much more than just one.

2 choices, trade it in or park it with the key in it. I'd seriously question the sanity of whoever passed it at inspection.

My brother drove his For explorer for a while with a rattle. I asked him what the rattle was, and he pointed it out. I told him to go to the ford dealer and get replacement parts for both sides. When he came over with the parts the other side snapped as soon as I put a wrench on it. Replaced both and he said it drove much better after.

Either remove it or replace both end links. I would replace the links and address the other issues the other posters pointed out.

With that much rust you need to ask yourself how much more money do you want to spend? At some point your better off cutting your losses and buying a new truck. The monthly payment on a new truck would be less that the monthly payment on the repairs needed.
