If you want a manual the answer is for sure yes. Would be shocked if it carries over even with the competition offering manual alternatives.

hybrid is only worth it if its plug in chargeable. which blows my mind why they dont implement that on the tundra and other vehicles. depending on where you live and how you drive the hybrid never actually gains mpgs

Any possibility to have solar panel in the bed then have it inverted to be able to charge Tacoma and have it constantly recharging battery at all times??

It would be so gooood! (In every way)
I’d trade mine today for a full evTacoma.

It may be a Rivian instead as Toyota is lagging…

Why though? Good as in you can only drive 150 miles in a loaded truck before having to spend a few hours charging? Or good in the way that you have to destroy the earth and people's lives getting to the lithium and using just as much energy to produce and use it? Oh, or so good that there are only a select amount of places to spend your couple hour pit stop to charge it? Or is it the really good fact that a battery is going to die out long before a Toyota combustion engine would and you'll need to spend thousands of dollars to replace it?

EV is not the way forward. Sorry. But it just isn't. Gas engines are cleaner than ever. Crude oil is in extreme abundance under the earth and is no where close to being used up.

The climate garbage they push on you is just a way to control more of your every day life. Do you really think big corporations would care that much about helping the earth? Lol no. They want your money and they want more power.

Was taking my youngest son to the urgent care yesterday when we saw a Rivian on the road. He couldn't stop laughing about the front end, especially those headlights. He thought it looked like someone took a Scion xB or Nissan Cube and tacked a truck bed on it. Might be a capable hauler, but it definitely didn't win over this particular 16yo with the aesthetics.

Nope, not with current technology. Someone did a calculation and discovered 4 panels wouldn't even power Ford's mobile charger with enough power to even charge the batteries. that's kind of funny. And don't even ask the idiotic question of using a gas generator to charge an EV. That's just stupid.

I'd consider a gas hybrid but not an EV. Not yet anyway.

I agree. And it's irritating how people say Toyota is lagging behind the EV market. try think about that for a while. Is there any EV truck in full production? Nope. Where will you get your Rivian serviced? Toyota seems to be taking the responsible approach. I commend Rivian and Ford for pushing the technology and industry. But not something Toyota does.

You are quite wrong in multiple levels…

I use EVs for long trips frequently, but that experience is surely irrelevant…

However, Be fully assured that I am now fully enlightened, I am happy to say.

I fully concede the argument - and I am now thoroughly convinced of my error by your insight.

I will never again think about these silly looking EVs with horrible performance and longevity.

I hear they get flat tires too!

    Freedom!

Rivian just had a recall on ALL their cars/trucks.

Toyota is lagging behind EV as compared to other EV companies.
Tesla cybertruck will be out this december, full production by Dec 2022 heading into 2023.

Anyways, jsut got 2023 Tacoma TRD sport 4x4 Nov. 2, $2,500 off MSRP no dealer BS add ons, and a free plane ticket and free uber. 2 weeks looking, used KBB and emailed all dealerships in the country. Florida dealerships should all be sued by the AG with their $10k+ "price adjustments" BS and on top of that, dealer installed BS tints $499, Doc fee $999, All weather mats $699, Paint protection $699, dent protection $699.
The only thing i would change is teh color Silver MEtallic, i always loved the look of the lunar rock. But oh well, tough to get everything we want in this market and not willing to wait 30 days.
