Is it still worth buying a 2023 Tacoma?

    https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/toyota-4runner-sales-figures/

This was the first link that came up, so i don't know if it's the best site, but it looks about like numbers I remember seeing. You can see that 4Runner has enjoyed some of its best sales years at the end of its generation. I believe the reason for this is because, now more than ever, people value tried and true simple/reliable tech over saving a few mpgs. It's nice to get good gas mileage, but a lot of the new powertrains are over complicated, downright unreliable, and annoying to drive. The Tacoma 6AT is guilty of this (while it's still reliable), and its why a lot of people hate it (also the reason I bought a manual).

So, yes, it's worth it to buy a 23' before Toyota falls in line with everyone else making disposable vehicles that get better gas mileage.

    https://joinyaa.com/guides/toyota-tundra-prices/

Tundra 4wd is up about 18-20%

    https://www.kbb.com/car-news/2023-toyota-sequoia-gets-8000-price-increase/

sequoia is up 8k a TRD pro sequoia is 78k a 2022 model was 65k... 13k increase (20%+) ... safe to say the same ratio will apply once toyota makes the taco "nicer"

Take a 45k TRD OR with options... and it'll be 54k or so... that's my prediction and you can feel free to quote this later once the 24+ pricing will be released.

Ok then ... that will be 50k... and top out at 60 for a TRD pro model.

State your reasoning for that given what just happened all across the board on the bigger brother.

my incoming '23 TRD OR DCLB is 44K before tax, which should be about 50K OTD

It has advanced tech package w/ MTM (birds eye view/ 360º cameras), and premium audio (8" display non JBL audio), and $900 for paint protection film. Other than the PPF, its MSRP.

2023 Tacoma starts at $27,250 according to the website. I'll wager $100 that the 2024 Tacoma starts at less than $37,250. In other words, I'm betting $100 that the 2024 Tacoma will not increase $10,000, as you have claimed.

Gladiator equally equipped to a tacoma is pushing 60k already compared to a 48k TRD pro... And new ZR2 Colorado is cresting well over 60k Since toyota doesn't discount as much pricing a new 2024 at 59,995 seems like a safe bet and still undercut the competition.

I think you must be bad at math. You cherry picked a cheap trim as a comparison sake. I am talking about the higher end trims which will see a 20% bump. No one gives a F about a 27k 2wd single cab long bed.

Trim in question is TRD off road with or without options.

OK. I'll wager $100 that the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro automatic will be $59,390 or less. The 2023 Pro automatic is $49,390 before shipping.

So you won't take the bet? Friendly bet. Not only do you have the chance to be $100 richer, you have the chance to prove me wrong!

I have better uses for $100. It will be close... Price comes in at 58,995 and I lose what's the point ?!

The main point I am trying to make here there will be a major price increase for the new model. And your questioning of that statement was presented with evidence to support it.

Tundra+Sequoia pricing which is just about higher 15-20% pending trim levels. Somehow that's not good enough for you. I have no interest in continuing that discussion further as it serves no purpose without any sort of data to back this up for another year.
