I paid $26K for my 2005 TRD OR DC Auto.
2022 TRD Sport ran me $45K, with stuff listed below plus extras I did not care about (safe, Predator steps, etc).
I expect the Gen 4 will bump up the price on lower trims by $2K and at least by $5K on TRD, Limited and Pro.
All of their suppliers will be raising prices on Gen4 parts. Toyota will raise its price accordingly.
They do not worry about market share. All other makers will be raising their prices too. No one wants to keep the market share and go bankrupt.

If you have not noticed, the real inflation is above 20%. Labor market is tight. Wages will go up. Price will go up to make up for wages and materials.
Priced aluminum, steel or plastic recently? European aluminum and chemical plants have shut down.
PS public has been conditioned to pay $5k above MSRP for the past 18 months. Raise of "only" $2K on a base model will seem like a deal.

I saw a nice Maverick on my way home today, I think they even had something in the bed. Anyway it was Carbonized Gray, or another shade of gray but I think that's the only dark gray Ford offers on thd Maverick, it also had the black wheel and trim package.

I don't even like the Maverick that much, but those little trucks do put a smile on my face.

Best deal I'm hearing on Super Duty is still 5k above MSRP, and the 2023 all new according to Ford SD is right around the corner.

I went from a 2018 Tacoma trd sport, owned 2 new half ton trucks since then, only to come back to, guess what? A 2023 Tacoma trd sport dclb.

The 3rd Gen is tried and true by now. Is it low on HP? Yes. Does it shift too early for better mpg? Yes. Does it tow kinda shittely? Yes. Does it have some cheap plasticky panels here n there? Yes. Does it still have things that ppl bitch about? Yes. But guess what… Toyota has a following, and dealers can’t keep them on the lot. Most reliable truck, hands down. 3rd Gen Tacoma is a fantastic truck.

toyota wont want to spend time and resources on engineering a new manual trans for this platform that an incredibly small percentage of people will buy. hell they just dropped the manual trans in the corolla for 2023. the corolla has always had a manual since the beginning in 1966 but for past few years under 2% of sales were with the 6 speed. mine was one of them. its a shame because its an awesome fun little daily with a 6mt. its a turd with the cvt.

Too many millennials and genzers don’t know how to drive stick, and it’s too inconvenient for their texting hand to be tied up while driving…

Also the only vehicles that work well with the CVT are side by sides and…well…nope that’s it

Buy a 23 model now..trade it in down the line for a 26 or 27 model, by that time all the kinks will be worked out of the 4th gen!

Might not see the 4th gen until 2030, Toyota is still trying to feel for the future of the midsize market.

The 2023 will still be running strong by then.

I think we are going to find that the companies that build reliable long lasting ICE cars are not necessarily going to be the companies that build reliable long lasting EV's. It will take a few years for thinking to change, but I think there will be a realignment on the best car companies when it comes to EV's. Toyota may or may not end up in the same position they are in now as far as reputation is concerned.

Styling and bullshit tech upgrades that no one really needs aside, the 4th gen Tacoma, whenever it comes out, will likely follow suit with the same disappointments as the 3rd gen Tundra. The new Tundra gets 21mpg combined, the hybrid version gets 22mpg combined. WTF Toyota?

In the Highlanders case, the mpg is about the same or a 1mpg difference between the 2.4 turbo and 3.5 v6. It's all about emissions.

I bought a 2000 T4R, I'm glad I did. It was completely restyled in 2003 and IMO it was fugly!
Even with that said, I would probably wait for the 2024.
