The body shop told me “these trucks are way too valuable no way are they gonna total this” when he looked at the damage, before he even did an inspection

I’m thinking you get the biggest, worst estimate you can from a body shop… send that estimate to your insurance, or hers… depending who was at fault.

    This is the fun part…
Cash the check! Order a aftermarket steel bumper of your choice, a set of dope-ass wide body fiberglass fenders, maybe a new light (can’t tell if yours is busted or not), and then take the rest of the monies and buy some more Taco Sauce that you’ve been wanting but haven’t yet purchased!!

Look at it as a blessing in disguise!

Why not ask your insurance? I would assume that is repairable. Unless the frame got tweaked.

:itllbuffout: Unless as mentioned above, frame damage. Glad you're ok, could've been worse.

time for a hybrid bumper. If you go that route then you'll only need a bumper cap (R4T sells them - link), fender, and a headlight.

Because it looks like it just happened an hour ago and he is sharing his pain with us Tacoma Bros until insurance co and body shop opens up tomorrow or Monday.

Poor guy’s weekend is partially ruined.

Thats awesome! What bumper did you go with? Glad shit seems to be quickly taking a positive turn for you. Bumpers are cake to do, just need extra hands or a decent jack to hold it up.

Keep the thread going as you get parts and mend her back to good health.

That's a good idea. Went with nothing to crazy and got the Body Armor Hi Line bumper. Went with a Warn Evo10 and Diode dynamics 18" light bar

No airbags, just my sunshade. It was actually like a 10 mph crash. Muddy road, slid into a Tahoe

edit: these modern vehicles crumple like tin cans!
