For once id would have liked very much to see a truck try a modern take on the classic truck look. Like how the charger does, it has the classic lines and all but refined and modern. I think the Tacoma could really rock with that kind of design concept instead of this constant push to have all cars and trucks look futuristic. Even the FJs did this pretty darn well

Yep. The Tacoma is almost Full-Size Pickup size. I would buy a smaller, turbo, Tacoma. With one of these on the grill:

Give us a Tacoma with retro Toyota pickup styling.

Hey! Im just making a point here that this 2nd gen Tacoma might be the best. If I saw a make belief tacoma based of the 4 runner, so be it.
I will bet anybody $100 us dollars that the new taco will be more powerful but covered in plastic. Just like the damn ridge line with the 4runner look.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Shit the Ridgeline is not near as ugly as that 3rd generation, going to stick to my 2nd generation or 1st generations! I just hope they do not change the 2nd generation, it is a really sharp looking truck and needs to stick around for a few years!

I wish I kept my 87 Toyota Pickup SR5 with the factory turbo locked in a barn keeping it pristine.
Now that would show me the money!
But alas I beat the crap out of it, wreck it twice & it rotted away in the new england elements like everything else up here. :(

If the black Photoshopped version that's been floating around was what the new gens would look like with the 4Runner motor I would seriously need to consider dumping my 2010 for one. Seeing the recently leaked photos of the 2012 I see no need to even consider an upgrade even if they upgrade the powertrain. How someone can even compare the Tacoma even the newly face-lifted leaked version to the Ridgeline is crazy. The Ridgeline is like having a Honda Civic with a truck body and minivan seats. Not sure if anyone has ever driven one but I was far from impressed by it. Couldn't wait to get out of it.
I would be curious to see what they do with the interior. In my opinion the Tacoma interior is no frills and I never understood why you can't get some of the same options that were available in the rest of their line.

If you want options, get a Tundra, full size trucks are getting more luxury than Bimmers these days.

Or they could simplify the line up and start making the Tacoma on the 4Runner frame. Remember these?

I'm not looking for anything crazy but it would be nice to be able to get a moonroof, leather and navi from the dealer rather than have to do it aftermarket. Not a huge fan of leather but it does look nicer and cleans up a whole lot easier than most cloth interiors.
A fully loaded Tundra would be nice but the monthly payment and fuel cost is not practical for me. Would just be nice to get some of the simpler interior upgrades especially since you can get them in every other model other than the Tacoma.

On top of that, the current 2nd gens are covered in plastic, you can just have it color matched so it doesn't look like plastic.

That too, I don't think that would qualify as a 3rd gen, it has some minor changes.
