You can order leather in a Tacoma and Toyota will put it in for you. I know because my Grandad did this.

They don't actually do it though. The dealer schedules an upholstery company to come pick the car up from the dealership and drop it off when they are done. Then they pass the cost on to you. At least that's what they did on mine.

My '07 has leather in it from the dealership. If it's not Toyota leather I can't tell - looks just like it, wears just like it, was listed on the sticker....

I will be buying a 2012 Taco or FJ (prob a Taco), it will have leather from the dealer...

Somebody tell him to get a 1st gen if he doesn't want as much plastic. Notice I said as much. I still have plastic. My bumper is plastic. I have a leather interior held together by plastic. I see nothing wrong with some plastic. Plus plastic doesn't rust.

To avoid confusion, I refer to my rear bumper as a mud trap. Or, since it is metal I guess you could call it a rust trap.

I agree...I wouldn't buy a '96 impala or a new one. I'd get an older camero though but the new ones are nice too...what are we talking about again?

Looks like a 2nd gen Taco and fifth gen 4runner had a one night stand to me. Just a nose job.:D

It would be so awesome to be able to buy one of those new right now. Of course, it would have to come with the new v6!

I think the 04 Tacoma is going to be the closest comparison. Last year of the small Toyota trucks, last year of the first GOOD V6 in a Toyota truck, still has iron engine block, all steel bed, and of course a cult following that swears a first gen is better than a 2nd gen (might be right):D

I know that around here an 04 TRD xtra cab V6 4x4 was only about 1500 bucks less on average than an 06 like the one I ended up buying two years ago. Looking at the prices now, they don't seem to have dropped much as long as the truck in question is under 100K miles.

    Hooray thread revival.

Only thing the Taco has in common with the b-body SS was that they're probably equally as fast lol. Never understood why people love them so much. My uncle used to have a 96 when they came out. Cool car and cool, but nothing special. I had an 07 Impala SS. It was wrong wheel drive so the Impala purest never considered it a real Impala, even though they were the fastest one ever made, at least stock for stock.
