Looking at this 09 4cyl with a manual transmission 120k miles. No rust. Looks like frame may have been replaced but not specified on carfax. Just shows 5 “campaigns” in 2019.
Also will I regret not getting a 6cyl. I’ll be pulling a utility trailer with a 1500 lbs lawn tractor at times. IMG_4649.jpg

Either it was or wasn't. A dealer can tell you by looking up the VIN. Regardless, it deserves a proper exam, not just 'looking'.

Carfax only knows what someone feeds it. It can have missing and incorrect data. So verify everything.

Again, a dealer can tell you what those were.

Depends on how far you go and the terrain you have to travel.

Make sure it’s actually an off-road.

Stickers are not oem and loads of people put stickers on their trucks and dupe buyers. Happens frequently on this forum.

Even occasionally see Toyota dealers duping trim levels.

The manual transmission will help with the reduced power from the 4 cylinder, I owned one a while back it was adequate for daily driving. But for sure was lacking power with a load in the bed, or towing, and seriously lacking if in hilly/mountainous areas.

15K feels a bit steep for an almost 15 year old vehicle with a 4 cyl, but perhaps that is what they are going for these days.

Seems a bit high. I paid 18k for my 150k mi 2013 DCLB 4wd V6 with tow pkg. And no rust. (Which still seemed crazy high but I wanted a Taco.)

Be very cautious of dealers buying out of state. Depending on the states involved that is one way dealers wash a vehicles history. But based on the pictures I would say it is NOT an Off Road package equipped truck. Compare with info from hear and this site might be a place to start. 2009 Toyota TRD Tacoma 4x4 Review: Off-Road.com

Look for the rear diff lock button in the cab. I am pretty sure those were only put in the off roads

That truck is not a real TRD Off Road. All second gen (2005-2015) TRD Off Road Tacoma's came with a 4.0 V6. Plus, it doesnt have foglights which was also part of the TRD Off Road trim. Someone put that sticker on the bed.

A note on Carfax... I had an S-10 that got hit. Dealer replaced the frame and most of the nose as part of insurance claim. That work never showed on Carfax.

I think Carfax is a scam. Yes, it does sometimes work in the buyer's favor but it will only show what a repair shop reports and I don't see how any of them are obligated to report.
I have a brother who does paint and body work, and he's never reported to Carfax.

I'm selling my 07 with 139k. It has 2023 OR wheels and shocks. I'm the sole owner over its life. Zero rust.

It is a Sport, but with g3 OR shocks RCI sliders. Perfectly maintained. Bring me that cashiers check for 15 k and it's yours.
