Is it worth it to change non-JBL speakers in a Gen 2?

Recently, I swapped the failing stock head unit with this one.

It's nice being able to listen to music again. The stock head unit has been a nightmare since day 1.

Now I'm kicking around the idea of doing speakers.

Is it worth it? I won't be doing an amp.

I don't want to spend more than $250.

I'm pretty sure that I have a non-JBL truck as I don't see "JBL" anywhere.

    Thanks for any replies.

I put a set of Kenwood 6x9 3 way speakers in the doors, all others are stock and it made a huge difference. My truck has a run of mill Kenwood head unit.

Don’t know how much they cost now but the Subaru tweeter upgrade used to be highly recommended and was sub 100$. Used to be able to do that and get a decent set of 6x9’s for the front doors.

    >250$

Sound deadening is supposed to be worth its weight in gold as well. Could do a 100$ worth of material for the doors and speaker upgrade of your choice. Tweets or doors.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
Yes, its worth it, if you get good speakers. The factory speakers are shit. I got some cheap chinese made Rockford Fosgates from a friend and sound clarity improved 10 fold over the factory speakers. You will need mounting adapters

Not to ask a stupid question, but does my Access Cab truck have rear speakers? If it does, I don’t see where they are.

Also, are there factory crossovers in the doors? I have factory component tweets.

By setting the fader to -15, I was able to find the rear speakers. They are in the headliner. Interestingly, Crutchfield’s Master Sheet shows them in the rear Access Cab doors and mentions nothing about the headliner.

I’m guessing the rears are no fun to change and probably not worth it.
