Yes, it's worth it the 2023 Tacoma is going to last for a long time. The 2024 tows better and is more comfortable and dealers are giving good discounts off MSRP or SRP but with all the complicated technology won't last as long as the 2023 Tacoma. I traded in my 2023 for a 2024 and will wait and see about reliability.

The Frontier is the only thing made by Nissan I'd buy. They aren't bad but my son had a Sentra for a while and both the car and the poor service from Nissan when it had issues left a bad taste in my mouth.

If I were looking at a smaller truck the Ford Ranger is one that I'd have to give a hard look. For one thing the 3rd gen Tacoma's don't interest me at all. And the new 2024 4th gens are too new, and I have some concerns.

The Ranger has been out long enough to prove itself. It has a LOT more power, gets better fuel mileage, tows more and has a LOT more payload. A typical crew cab 4X4 Tacoma will have 1000-1100 lbs of payload. A crew cab 4X4 Ranger will have 1500-1600 lbs. That's important to me.

My plan is to buy another truck sometime in 2025. I'm watching the 4th gen Tacoma's closely and if they work out OK one would be on my short list. But so is the Ranger.
