Is it wrong that I want to trade in my '13 DCSB for a '14 DCLB?

Haha... That's with almost any vehicle you buy. Toyota included. Dealers are like Casinos, They don't build these large buildings by losing money. :)

I appreciate the words of wisdom from fellow engaged and married people. That is the main thing holding me back right now, being that it was a surprise gift. She picked it out and I got home from work one day to find it in the driveway. I will look into getting a trailer as that may be the more economical of the choices.

If she picked you out a short bed, she apparently doesn't think you need the extra inches. :D

If you trade it - this will end up in an argument. (Sometimes years later.)

I'd agree with those saying to make the best of it. If you don't offroad a lot and don't see bad snowstorms, 4x4 isn't really worth the extra money anyway. You'd be surprised the places you can get a 2WD pickup into if you know how to drive it. A trailer would be awesome if you have room for it, and keep good tires on it for the odd snowstorm. Or throw some tire cables on if it gets real bad. If you like the 4x4 look, you could put in a lift kit.

Plus you found somebody who buys trucks for you and out of all the trucks to choose from she picked out a pretty good one. That's worth a lot more than 4wd and a long bed.

Yeh, it's wrong. If you need 4x4 that's one thing. You can say, "babe.. I love the truck so much.. in fact I'm going to get the same thing you got me, but I just need 4x4 for safety reasons" or something. If you are going to be hauling furniture a lot, then honestly that extra foot is nice. It's all a compromise though, if you need more space routinely, get a full size truck.

If you moved furniture several days a month, then I'd say get a long bed or a full sized truck.... otherwise you'll just waste money.

Best of luck if you do this.
Most of the time you get rapped by the dealer, it's your money.
It just depends what you owe on the 2013.
I just have not seen this work out very well in any car or truck.

My first wife did this crap a few times, dealer always came out good.
I got screwed and never enjoyed it.
This is one reason she is an ex.
