Nice, do you have more side pictures?
I'm doing the same size but in 265/75R16 and about a 2.5 lift

    Not enough...
Mine came with a 1.75" front lift from the factory. I added another 1" with a thicker spring seat from Toytech, 1.5" ICON AAL and put on 285/75r16 on it. Not only that made the truck look way better, it rides way softer too and steering *feels* more responsive. I wanted to do this sooner, but was waiting for my stock tires to wear out.

To just level your truck, then yes, the .85 setting on the strut should do the job. I would use a non TRD coil for this though. The TRD coils are progressive, meaning as they're compressed, they get tighter. You can see at the top of the coil that they are wound tighter than the stock coils. If you find that you want a stiffer coil, then the TRD's will give you that with the 5100's. Also, just leveling the truck, you shouldn't need an AAL, although once you lift it, you may change your mind and want to go higher.

If you did a before and after skid pad test you'd not feel this way.

To the OP. There is more 'danger' in any loose nut behind the wheel than in a properly executed lift. And the screamingly popular lift/tire packages can make improvements in off road performance, assuming the changes allow the vehicle to accomplish things it couldn't in stock form. Many folks do just fine with a bit more aggressive tire and honed driving skills.

And while certain lift combos may make for a more compliant ride, they will not make for better handling on pavement.

Go to any pavement based automotive sporting event that includes any form of handling such as braking & cornering, and you won't see any lifted vehicles. They'll all be lowered. And stiffer.

My thought is to build the vehicle for how you use it 80-90% of the time. If you build it for the 10-20% you won't enjoy the other part nearly as much.

you could always get s set of wheel adaptors to increase your track width. i put them on mine after my lift and 255/85r16s and it made cornering feel more stable.

My girl said since you can't get a extra 3 inches we might as well add 3 inches to your Tacoma.
Chicks dig Tacoma's with 3 inch lifts.

You have a 3rd gen (as you know) and your truck sits 1" higher at stock ride height than a 2nd gen. This could mean you need to lift different amounts than we do to level. I avoid the 3rd gen section, so I have no idea of the specifics for your desired lift.

If you get the OME 885's, or any aftermarket spring, you will be lifting the front end more than level. 885's and 5100's will give you 2 to 2.5" of lift up front and you'll have your nose in the air and people will flash their brights at you because they think you're running your high beams on all the time. At that point you will need an AAL or a new leaf spring pack to level out. I think you will be perfectly fine off road with SR5 coils and 5100's set at .85 with the 32" tires.

My Tacoma started somewhat similar to yours.

    Here's how it looks now.

Once you lift it, you'll want bigger tires. Then you'll want better wheels. Then you'll want a plate bumper, and a winch, and lights, and skid plates, and rock sliders, and.... and...

BTW: I like my Old Man Emu setup. Though after going to Moab I realized the guys with Icon and other high end suspension systems can go faster on rough terrain than I can. LOL OME is pretty stiff on crappy trails.
