    Greetings,

I hate to make this my first post but its a decision I'm going to be living with for quite a while so thought I'd get some advice. Magnetic grey owners, is it difficult to keep your truck looking nice? I went into the dealer set on getting this color and luckily a buddy of mine is a sales manager and promised me he would give me a good deal if I came down to see him. One requirement is I have to have the TRD sport package because I don't want any chrome whatsoever on the truck and on the showroom floor, he has a white 2014 sport. It doesn't have all of the fancy options like side steps, nav/jbl, or anything like some others I've seen but Im wanting to get a sport as cheap as I can and do it up my way later. Long story short, he located a magnetic grey one and says getting it will be as easy as me saying that I want it but we got to talking and he told me to come check out his magnetic grey Tundra. In the sun, this colorful is absolutely beautiful BUT I see it shows scratches like no tomorrow and he mentioned it wasn't the easiest color to keep clean. I take pride in my vehicles and take care of my stuff in general so keeping it clean doesn't scare me but what does is the fact that my current vehicle is black and it seems like no matter how much I wash and wax it, its definitely nice when its clean but that lasts like two days max  I just don't want to have to go through that again because this will be my daily driver for now. The secondary vehicle Im trading in is silver and its definitely a nice color that hides scratches and I can get away with washing it occasionally and it always looks nicer than most vehicles I see around me. The problem is I see ALOT of silver tacos and its a nice color but I want something different this time. I've never owned white so as far as upkeep, I don't know what to expect but it cant be near as bad as the black. Any suggestions? Regrets on getting/not getting the magnetic grey? Anything I should know about white as it ages? I've read a few threads on here but the reviews were pretty mixed on magnetic grey so I don't quite know what to think  I trust him as a friend and its no pressure to sale/push the white one off the lot.

    Yeah.
No regrets here. Color has never been my top thing, I just want a good deal and the configuration I am looking for. But I would think twice about black. I have owned 2 silver Tacos because that is what was available. I don't think the MGM is much harder to keep looking clean than silver.

That said, I probably would have gone with white if they had both of them available.

My last truck was black lol so the MGM IMO is almost easier to keep clean. obviously it's gonna show more dirt then a white color, but all in all its not that bad to keep clean.

The easiest color to keep clean is white. I found it easier to keep clean than silver. I have magnetic grey and it does require more effort to look clean. I keep it waxed which repels a lot of the dirt. I wax it at least once a month...sometimes twice. I am retired so I have the spare time. Go with the white. It looks good and is easy to maintain.

I have an MGM, and like pretty much any darker color it will show scratches and dirt. Not like a black vehicle, they look dirty 5 minutes after you finish washing them. White is probably the easiest color to keep clean, and was my second choice color after MGM.

Yep...sorta drives me crazy. But, when clean, it is the best looking. I had a silver Taco before...that was easy. It never looked dirty. Color is not really that important to me. And i don't worry if the OUTSIDE of my truck is dirty. But if I were concerned about that, it would be trouble.

I have a black taco. I washed it two days ago. When you're up close, every spec of dirt is visible, yes. Does it still look sexy up close and far away? Yes. It's not a problem for me, because washing, waxing, is my favorite hobby. It's all about preference: I've always disliked white because every vehicle on earth seems to be white. Black isn't necessarily uncommon, but I've always loved the look of a black vehicle (only ever owned black). When they are clean, they are BEAUTIFUL...and honestly, owning a truck...if it ain't dirty at times, are you really using it?

I've had both, white and Mag grey. The white one will look cleaner longer.

To those wondering about black, I hate to say it because when its freshly waxed it looks amazing but in reality, yes its that really that bad lol. Definitely can forget any little rain spell and if nothing else gets you, itll be the dust or swirl marks (I only wash mine late in the evening.) Definitely want to thank everyone who has replied so far. I've done a little more reading myself and Im leaning towards the white at this point. It's a truck I'll definitely have for quite some time and though it will spend 99.99% of its life on a paved surface, I just think the white will look better in say 10 years as opposed to the MGM when thinking about day to day life (scratches, door dings, washes, etc) To those with MGM, I have to hand it to you though, that color is REALLY hard to beat in the direct sunlight and I love how it "changes shades" in different lighting situations. I see plenty of white taco's on here though that look pretty slick with black wheels.

I felt like my MGM showed dirt pretty fast. In the spring the pale yellow of the pollen seemed to really show as well, kinda like a gross yellow snow

Every little scratch and ding really showed up as well. Of course I am pretty hard on the truck so it may have been me. I hit a tree and my wife had three dents in it in the first 6 months

White Tacomas look great, but seems it is a color most used as work trucks.

I chose a different color only because I didn't want everyone to think I was driving a white work truck.

I have a white TRD sport, love the lack of chrome. It hides the dirt fairly well from a distance but the dirt is quite noticeable around and plane change and the wheel fenders up close.

Touchup on white is much easier too. Stone chips and small fixed look better.
