I'm kicking around the idea of a new TRD OR, LB with 6 speed manual, and on Toyota's site, this configuration isn't available. For some reason I thought we could get one in the States, but not in Canada, any thoughts??

I believe only the Sport offers an AC with MT.

You can get the MT in the following configs only (in the states)

    ACLB Sport
    DCSB Sport
    DCSB OR
    DCSB PRO

in Canada you can get the ACLB OR

there isn’t a DCLB MT available anywhere

No it is not, unfortunately because if it were I would have definitely got the manual transmission with the long bed. Why Toyota is not making this variation is a total mystery. I believe Toyota is missing a viable market share by not. Otherwise this beautiful cement long bed would be a manual shift.

it's not a mystery why, it's about about keeping a common wheelbase and frame configuration. otherwise it would be an entirely different truck with DC & LB.

The manual crowd has to make sacrifices to get their transmission of choice. This is just another one on the long list.

I wanted a DC offroad originally, but none offered in canada. Had to settle for the sport, no regrets though. MT was the most important feauture for me.

It is said that the DCLB configuration already manufactured in low quantities. Add in the 5% MT take rate, and Toyota just doesn't care. Myself, it seems foolish to continually leave 5% of buyers behind on a few different (easy?) configurations. That adds up to an sizeable chunk of sales, IMO.

But like you noted, the number of DCLB folks that have said that they would have searched out an MT is quite a lot.

Make sense for sure. I had to compromise on top choices of color due to availability. Also why theres no JBL with the manuals is one of life's great mysteries. Although I enjoy turning a key to fire up the truck touchless entry would be nice. I'm assuming the key is required because the push button start doesn't play nice with the clutch start cancel button because other Toyota models with manuals have the push button start.

Well at a 5% take rate they're only cranking out like 12,250 +/- manuals a year. Divide that over the possible trim options and colors that slim pickings no matter how you chop it up.

I have had other vehicles that do not have a clutch switch though. Maybe PTS is confusing enough, but it would not be a big leap to have PTS and in-gear starting. It has saved my butt a handful of times.

Also if your battery dies, dont think you can jump start with a push button. Never owned a car with push button start, so im not sure on that one.

Well, they know MT drivers will buy MT no matter what, so i think they are just saving money by not installing the JBL.

I think on the JBL side it is a problem because the harness is different? It is said the Subaru tweeter upgrade cannot be done on the JBL Tacos because the connector is different.

    Another 5% slice and dice.

I certainly did not want PTS. I've seen too many issues since they started appearing. Too many stories of forgotten fobs, short battery life, the relay attacks, etc.

You can jump start a push to start car. Would be a horrible design if you couldn't.

I don’t mine not having the JBL the factory radio that comes with the my truck works & sounds Great only problem I don’t like about it is you must wait till it runs trough all the screens till it gets to the stations preset on the satellite but can turn the Volume down or up while it takes a few seconds to do it otherwise no complaints from me love having the MT is the best part of it.
