How could I tell....? With 70000 miles, should I run some injector cleaner (ie. Lucus Injector cleaner) with a tank of fuel?

I am sorry for such a basic question, but that shroud covering the engine, I can't see any thing that resembles injectors.....

The shroud is easy to take off if you want. But yes it is Fuel Injected.
That Lucas stuff can't really hurt...but you may or mat not see a huge change.

I think all cars now are fuel injected... the old ways are long gone with the pumping the gas pedal since it floods the engine

Every vehicle sold to the consumer market in the US has been fuel injected since 1990.

I run STP injector cleaner through every few months. You'll actually notice slightly better gas mileage for that tank. Other than that, I never noticed a change but I'm sure it can't hurt.

Fuel injection has been on ALL toyotas since the mid 1980's.

That shroud is just a plastic piece of crap to make the engine look more "modern" and to scare people away from trying to do their own work.

Actually... if you've never removed the shroud, that means you've never changed the spark plugs... You should do that sometime in the near future. You're supposed to change them every 30,000 miles, you're a little overdue!

Techron is the best additive on the market. If you buy it, use a bottle of the Techron Concentrate, not the Fuel injector cleaner. The Techron in the gas at the station is very dilute and is only preventative. It will take a long time for it to clean the injectors at such low levels. So use the concentrate.

Now all cars are fuel injected, but the 2wd Toyota pickup with the 22R was made until 1995. The 22R was the carburated version of the venerable 22RE.

The emissions and reliability demands of today require fuel injection.

I like the Lucas fuel treatment and it surely cant hurt.
