Yeah well we can just close our eyes and use our imagination.

Feel free to post pics of your version of actual off-roading. Those are always a hoot. Some guy locked, 2mph, and sweating bullets over some pile of rocks he shoulda just drove around

Kind of like that dealer in another thread (Liar, Liar I think?) that has the SR5 tricked out selling it as a Pro. #problemsolved :)

You did. But you’re gonna need some pics of a 45mph roost around a saguaro in order to cast glory

I can get almost anywhere in my 2wd. I don't like to rock crawl, but i can get through some pretty good obstacles. Better than a bunch of the 4wd's out there.IMG_20191129_131729 (1).jpg

I also live in the Midwest and wanted to make sure I was prepared for any storm that might come our way. But other than some light trail rides I don’t truly “off-road” my truck.

Like most people said, don’t let this forum tell you how to build YOUR truck, just use the vast amount of information found here to help make your decisions when modding. I think you also might be surprised at the capabilities of the 2WD tacos.

I blame the Z71. As soon as chevy put that bedside call out, EVERYBODY started buyin nothing but 4WD. Couldn't have a sticker w/o it.

Seriously, the Blazer was what you bought when you wanted a lifted 4WD (mall crawler or beach crawler) in the eighties. A Bronco if it was a bad weather vehicle or running from the cops.

edit: proof? You can't even get a 5 lug any more. The reason for compact trucks was economy and that was the only economical model...now it's gone. No body wants it.

When I worked in the bush in Northern BC we were doing Forestry surveys waay in the back rhubarb.. this day we had actually been helicoptered in to avoid a day long quad trip for the whole crew. We were stumbling around in the middle of a swamp and came across a Datsun kingcab 2wd. It had chains on the back tires and was parked on dry ground. It wasn't stuck but had been sitting there for a few years. We tried to figure how it would've gotten through 40km of swamp and maybe it went in during the winter.. Either way I was impressed.

Looked like this but with 10x more squirrel poop.

Prob. had someone stand on the back bumper so it would get traction.

Since the 3rd gens all have the same suspension, can i call my 2wd a prerunner? It sounds way cooler.. i drive 80 miles a day on the highway for work in a factory.. my hunting leases are all on Weyerhaeuser land with gravel roads to my deer stands. I didn’t need a 4wd..

Did it make your steering noticeably lighter and quicker response wise? 4x4s always seems to feel sluggish on pavement when it comes to steering. Your truck looks awesome.
