Is my Bestop going to fall off while driving?!

My bestop just arrived, and in the directions it says to install with temps of over 72 degrees due to shrinking of fabric. Ok, no problem.

My concern is once I get it installed and have it up in weather colder than freezing am I going to have to worry about the snaps coming undone while driving, or the seams ripping apart? I sure hope not because I bought it to haul a lot of my personal belongings in the bed for my move from central WI to North Western WA. Anybody with some insight would greatly help!

Absolutely not. It is solid once attached. The temperature thing is because it can be difficult to fully seat it when the temps are that cold, however once installed it can shrink or expand as needes without affecting you. IMO it actually is better in the winter doesn't move at all when driving.

Good deal, I suppose they know what they're doing when building these things.

I installed mine a few weeks ago. Awesome product. There is a soft top thread in the 2nd gen thread with all sorts of tips and pictures as well as a few other Bestop threads on here.

Yeah my Bestop is solid as hell. I did what a lot of other people did and bought a piece of flat aluminum and clamped it down on the little velcro portion near the cab for extra piece of mind and otherwise I've taken the top up to 90 doing a quick pass and no issues. Even drove in a head wind the other weak at 80 for a ~150 mile drive and no issues. It will beat around a little in a big gust but it isn't going anywhere. Only issue I have is the little buckles to tie it down knock against my cab but that's an easy fix.

I forgot to mention I installed mine in 50-60 degree weather in the shade so not optimal. By myself it was a bit of a pain but I got everything together, until I got to the windows. Rear window was a pain in the ass but once it was zipped up it was good to go. Side windows just weren't going to go. I parked my truck in the sun the next day and was able to get the windows in in 60 degree weather + sun. You just have to be careful, and I took a trick someone else told me and catch the zippers in first and zip up maybe an inch or so if you can before you mess with the plastic channels. Once you get those side windows in just leave them and everything will eventually relax nicely.

I have a few areas around the edges I still need to seal up with the foam tape or something and I also used camping seam sealer on the little sewing pin holes near the corner seams or wherever I saw light coming through.
