Hey all, super Tacoma noob here. I just bought this truck new from the dealer and I'm wondering if the suspension looks stock to you guys or is there a 2.5/ 3 inch lift?

Thanks! I want to add a 6 inch lift and bigger tires first. A local shop is quoting me 2500 for parts and labor for a 6 inch lift. That seems a little high...what do you guys think?

Ha, do you mean a 6 inch lift is too high or that price for it is too high?

I was just messing with you. I'm not a fan of going that high because you have to cut the cross member, but to each his own.

The lift is too high. Un needed. Unless you are going purely for looks with 0 Offroading.

If it's a 4x4 you would have a drop bracket lift which has same travel as stock and you lose clearance.

Id be lying if I said I wasnt changing my mind every other day over getting a 3 inch vs getting a 6 inch. Im looking at a 3 inch SST lift from Readylift that looks promising

For 2500 bucks you could get a really respectable 3" lift that is meant for some real off-roading. 6" lifts are for decoration.

Just my humble opinion man. Either way, nice truck and have some fun with it.

    What about it looks promising?

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'd do a bit more research on what kind of lift you want and what you want out of your truck before you go buying a bunch of garbage and slapping it on your nice, new to you truck.

The price looks promising. And yeah, that's why I joined a forum- to get some information to make an informed decision before I do anything. Thanks for your concern though.

Dude. Suspension lift all the way. @HeadStrong Off-Road Marie can hook you up for a fair price. OME Lifts, Toytec, performance coilovers the routes are endless, but I promise you if you buy it right the first time and avoid spacers, you'll thank yourself later.

From what I've seen and heard on here, OME lifts are the best bang for your buck.

    Too few to list.
Congratulations on your purchase. Good choice on the 13 skipping the 2012's. $2,500 for a 6" lift is high and like others have said, the cross member has to be cut. Don't forget that you have to add wheels and tires cost to that.

If your use is mostly on road daily driving and want it off-road capable but not break the bank, I suggest an OME 887 lift with full leaf pack. Since you're 4x4, I also suggest getting aftermarket upper control arms like SPC/LR as it is cost effective and very adjustable. You'd be around $1,700 with this set up. Leave you $$$ for wheels and tires. Welcome to the site.
