You'd be surprised how often they don't go off. I had an adjuster tell me that it's fairly rare.

You cant do that without putting OEM parts back on. Insurance company sells the totaled vehicle for a salvage yard for parts, it is worth far less without seats, bumper etc. If you remove those, the adjuster needs to change the payout amount. Doing it without that is insurance fraud.

I'll send photos to my buddy that does this for a living but it's probably totaled even if the airbags did not go off. I'm a bit concerned that they didn't go off to be honest

Looks like a new front clip is in order. Like other says, it could look worse than it is. If the frame rail is not bent, you will probably be looking at a repair. A pricey repair, but a repair.

Insurance company’s like to totall everything theses days but always the case I have seen worse & they repair it Airbags not going off just means it didn’t hit one of the sensors in the body so depending on how much truck is worth before the crash & the cost of repairs all play a roll. A friend of mine wrecked his 2008 pre runner 152k miles back in January they Didn’t total it gave him $9,800 to repair the whole front end clean title instead sold it wrecked for $2,000 & bought my 2009 Tacoma with only 41k miles $21,000 so i got my 2020 Tacoma now with a manual 6 speed.Good luck you can say to the insurance company you want it to be totaled they will do it if the numbers say it can & get your self another truck

Ok... Yeah my buddy who does collision estimates Said with how new it is there's a pretty good chance that it will not be totaled strictly because of the overall value of the truck. Even slight frame rail issues can be repaired.

That said. Don't be surprised if they total it because there's a lot of shit going on there

I wish people would stop saying this. If you walk away without the airbags going off, the airbags didn't need to go off. Airbags hurt, a lot.

OP: It's probably going to be totaled.

I think it is a write off. Let us know when the insurance adjuster looks at it.

IIRC, insurance companies will total a vehicle if the repair cost is more than 80% of the value of the vehicle. With a 2019, that's a lot of money. Unless the frame need replacement, I'd guess that they will repair it. It needs a nose, including core support, radiator, AC condenser. It looks like the front passenger door is damaged as well. If the leading edge of that is damaged, it's likely cheaper to buy a new door skin and then stuff the components in. At least that's how they used to do it.

All of that said, if the firewall on the right side it damaged, it's more than likely to be totaled. I can't see the A pillar because of the snorkel, but if that is bent and the windshield is cracked, the firewall is damaged.

Sometimes they will total for frame damage no matter what. No airbags happens a lot, happened to me in a collision.

    Like, so many.
I agree with the others, it looks totaled. That's a good bit of damage.

Air bags deploy in specific situations depending on vehicle speed, deceleration, impact direction.

They do not deploy in all accident situations. A common mythconception.

Yeah there’s a balance between getting your face beat by a bag vs the vehicle doing its thing and absorbing the blow in the crumple zone. I don’t know why people think bags blow by default just by looking at the damage. Modern vehicles are meant to get squashed.
