Looks like bulk of damage is in passenger side. If nobody was on the passenger seat, I believe that airbag stays turned off by default since weight sensor doesn’t detect a passenger. If that’s correct, it could explain lack of deployed airbags.

If they repair it you better sell that sucker to Carvana before the accident shows up on carfax....lol..... in all seriousness don't forget to negotiate for diminished value if they fix it.....the first offer your insurance company offers is not the final offer....you will pay for that accident on trade in and sale value down the road...get as much of it as you can up front.

Hope you're OK OP. I don't want to make light of the situation. But from the statement above. You may want to go get checked out.

As far as I know you can't request diminished value from your own insurance, especially for an accident that is your own fault. Diminished value is something you would request from another party's insurance that was found at fault for an accident. It's compensation for the decreased value of your vehicle after an accident that was no fault of your own.
You can't just crash your vehicle and expect your insurance to pay for the fixes and the decreased value due to the accident.

When you are dealing with your own insurance for a single vehicle accident, it's not the same as dealing with another party's insurance for a no fault accident.

OP: Hope you are OK. The truck looks bad, but they are made to do that in the event of a collision. Hope it works out the best for you.

Diminished value depends on the state you are in. For example, Texas does not recognize diminished value.

Google it, even if Florida does...you can't claim it for an accident that is your fault.

It's a tough sell asking for diminished value when it's your fault the damage happened.

Scrap yard ... this is why I hate new vehicles . 45 mph and that much damage . If it was a older car the tree would of been toast lol glad every one walked away .

well I made the claim. I'm waiting to see if you get total loss. I also have gap that covers what doesn't cover the insurance

Yeah but in an older car YOU would be toast. You can't beat physics... either the vehicle crumples to absorb the impact energy, or you do. That energy has to go somewhere, no other way about it.

But as a lot of people are saying, it's probably totalled but at the end of the day that's for the adjuster to decide.

Just a waste of time, read the article below, specifically under the Section; "How to File a Diminished Value Claim" --> "If you are at-fault in the accident, your diminished value claim will likely be denied".
You'll pay an adjuster to determine the diminished value, since that's your responsibility knowing it's going to be denied.

It also doesn't help that you admitted fault in post #18. Posting in forums usually isn't a good thing when looking for insurance payouts.

Also, looks like every state, other than Michigan allows compensation for diminished value claims.

Florida does, but like others stated, you may have a hard time with your own insurance company. For a quick answer, you could call one of the sleaze ball personal injury attorneys like Morgan and Morgan. They would let you know right away. Of course they would want to take 30% of that, but you don't need them if it is allowed.

Even if they do approve DV, don't expect much. The formula is pretty awful. You would probably get somewhere in the neighborhood of $1K in diminished value.
