If it were me and the insurance company *doesn't* total it, I'd trade it in right after getting it back. I wouldn't want to drive a vehicle that had sustained that damage.

Half the shops I've been to with cars/trucks/motorcycles can't do a simple service without doing something wrong. Relying on a shop to get all of those repairs correct is not something I'd be interested in.

A steering wheel airbag can break your arm and nose if you keep your arm crossed in front of it when holding the steering wheel, and then your face gets hit as your arm flies up with the bag. -A common injury!

Toughest car I ever owned was an '84 Fleetwood. That sucker could hit an orange barrel at 70 without even waking up its occupants. :anonymous: It wasn't exactly the worst off-roader I ever owned either. High-center? pfff. more like plow-through...

I used to work in collision repair shops and I have seen similar amounts of damage get repaired on vehicles of roughly the same age. It will likely come down to your insurance policy. Not having the air bags deployed will dramatically reduce the cost of a repair as air bags usually cost a lot of money.

Damn dude that sucks. The tow truck driver asked me where I wanted it towed so I told him to take it to an auto body shop that I've used in the past. Claims adjuster went out the next day and totaled it and told me I had two days to get out my personal belongings. I stripped that fucker from head to toe. Didn't even put it back together after removing all of my mods and left everything in a pile inside the cab and truck bed. I even removed the aftermarket wheels and tires, air intake, and the Borla exhaust.

I have a 2015 Toyota Corolla worth $9,000 and a 2016 Toyota Tacoma worth $25,000 and the insurance is more on the Corolla due to more of a chance of bodily injury.atleast you choose a safe truck.glad your ok

My last DD was a 2000 XJ (completely modded but probably doesn’t really matter for insurance I suppose), I was pleasantly surprised how little difference it was when I bought my new Taco last year. The added safety features really kept the rates low all things considered.

It would be better if they totaled it so you can get another one even if your in the red for the first buy. Pretty sure the frame is bent and if a body shop can fix it I'd take a new one all day.$.02

it all depends how bad the frame is - if it can be straightened to spec than should not be a problem. I would be concerned with alignment and such

Uh Dimitri, this thread is 8 months old. I'm guessing he has found out by now.
