is my truck totaled?

I have no clue, if this helps the battery was still working after the crash because my music continued to play as a just sat there in shock. Another update, the original shop I had it taken to moved it to one of their other locations because ‘they didn’t handle major damage’ which didn’t make me feel to good. But they have assessed the damage and given a quote to farmers, the insurance guy said that it could take up to three weeks for him to even get to my claim. I feel like it should be fairly simple and quick once he actually looks at the quote from the shop and decides what is cheaper for insurance to do. Thanks so much for your help on this, it means so much to me and all of y’all’s wisdom is so helpful.

 

Just from what you've said I'm going to guess it's at a Caliber?

Oh yeah. They've bought out most of the big body shops and just about all of the chains. They r the biggest chain body shop in the country now.

 

Where I live , accidents such as yours must be reported to the buyer when the time comes to sell the truck . Thats if the truck gets repaired . Usually in a case like this when someone is interested in purchasing your vehicle and they find out it has been in an accident , they may tend to look at other trucks rather than purchasing a vehicle that was badly damaged.
Talk to your insurance company before signing any documentation .

 

hey guys thank you for all of your help and support through this, but unfortunately my truck has been totaled. Lost around $800 on the payout plus the $500 deductible on all of this. The frame was pushed back in the collision and messed up stuff with the support in the back of the truck too.

 

If not your fault you shouldn't be out any amount. Shame on insurance for chincing on 1300 bux in a multi car accident.

 

Id be more worried about the LEO thinking I rammed into him and start shooting at me because I was dazed and confused and couldn't follow his instructions to open the door with my right foot while both my hands are outside the window.

 

Did you already accept the payout from the insurance? With how much Tacomas are worth right now, you could really fight for market value and not accept their first offer. If you already accepted their offer in writing then it's too late.

 

Agreed - if the other guy hit you and you've got a witness, his insurance should have to pay yours in the end, so you shouldn't be eating any deductibles. Of course this assumes the other guy had insurance...?

Side note: if you're active US military or an honorably discharged vet, you should be getting your auto insurance thru USAA and never looking anywhere else. These is just no substitute when you need to deal with a situation like this.

Were you determined to have any fault in this claim? Something's not right if you haven't been made whole in this. Don't accept that offer...unless you did. Call their bluff.

That's one smooshed Taco. Glad you're ok, but I don't see how that isn't a full write-off.

 

Did you get another Taco yet? New vehicles are hard to shop for nowadays with the whole shortage. My local Toyota dealer’s lot is empty. I was lucky to get mine in October of last year because I ordered it 4 moth prior, otherwise I would have been out of luck.
