I did for a while, but damn is it hard to get started in that thread when you have no idea what the tune really does. Most of the people there seem as though they’ve been with this thing since it came out, so it was a little off putting. But I will check it out some more. Thanks

I have a 17 sport MT. I mostly shift with no clutch and truck is super smooth to drive like that. I was finding I was trying to give truck to much gas and the little engine just couldn’t spool fast enough to match clutch engagement. Then it would lug a bit and get all jerky till rpm came up. I’ve gotten so used to my diesel I forgot how gutless these little gas engines are. My last taco was an 05 auto and before that was a 92 with a MT. I actually get better gas mileage shifting with no clutch.

Well, we really are a tiny club compared to the auto trans group - so I could see why it seemed that way. Most guys in there are really helpful if not a bit strange
Someone else made a suggestion to start with page 1 of that thread (tune info), read all of Mat's posts, and check out his website. You'll definitely get a sense of the development/history of this tune.
Good luck and see you around

Why shift without the clutch. Causing more wear to the synchros by floating the gears that way.
