Just keep throwin' money at it.
Looks a lot like a block heater (aftermarket) but also a great way to pre-heat a morning breakfast burrito, so you have a warm truck and a warm meal in the morning.

The best my OEM heater did was turn overnight snow to icicles hanging off the front. Kept things just barely warm enough to ease the cold starts. Of course, the only time I used it was when I was living just north of Anchorage(Fort Rich) and it really doesn't get stupid cold there. I definitely don't need it where I am living now in Indiana.

Its most likely is a block heater plug or a battery warmer. Pull the cover off to confirm what orientation the end is, but its a 99% chance that it will be a male end. Just play the game of follow the leader to locate where it goes then we'll be able to exactly tell what it is

    Cheers

I need to get my head checked (or maybe not drink before posting): It was a male plug, I'm assuming for an engine block heater. I could've sworn that I removed the cap to look, but in the swirl of being pissed off about having ripped my bumper off, I guess I didn't check. At least some of us got good laughs out of the ensuing thread.:cheers:

Better to be mistaken by a male block heater cord than a hot hooker transvestite.

I am glad you came back shared this, lots of folks would have gone about it a different way. Standing up and admitting when you were wrong or made a mistake is lost in our current culture. You're a stand up person in my book!

Thanks! I figure honesty is the best policy, especially as a newbie (making obvious newbie mistakes) wading into the off-road waters and having decided to not sell my truck. Appreciate your comment.

    I second that emotion.

Integrity seems in short supply these days. Nice to see some is still around. :hattip::thumbsup:
