Is putting a TRD pro grille on an SR5 a faux pas?

Not trying to be a poser or anything, just love the retro look of the TRD Pro grille. The SR5 grille is okay but I really think the Pro grille would look a lot cooler, especially with the colour of my truck.

At the same time I don't want to be tacky and not know it. What's the consensus on this?

I know what you mean but I really don't want to be in the same category as ricer civic owners and fanny pack guys. I want to maintain a certain level of self-awareness.

 

It's just a grill - it'll be fine.

 

The only people that probably would care are the pro owners and that’s only if they are insecure in their reasoning for purchasing a pro. Most people without a Tacoma won’t know the difference.

Just do it. Who cares. Most people wouldn’t know the difference anyway. The guy at the dealership who sold me my regular TRD didn’t know my truck had the pro grill in it. Lol! The parts department had added it on without telling the sells staff.

 

That grille/tire combo is really attractive. Need to find a good tire with white lettering...

 

Do it. I don't know what Toyota was thinking with the chrome thing, maybe trying to be like the domestic brands, but I think it looks hideous. Swap it out or plasti-derp what you have.

The grille only has “TOYOTA” on it and nothing about performance. It’s not like you’re slapping TRD or pro badges on the truck. Just do it.
