    Hello all,
Im new to this forum and to the truck world so I need some guidence.

Im looking to buy a used Tacoma but I don't know how to gauge if they are worth it. Im currently looking at a 2010 access cab with 220,988 miles for $11,677. Is she worth it?

Any guidance is extremely appreciated. thank you in advance.

Have you compared it to other listings? you may want to check craigslist / facebook market / offer up / autotrader etc and see if you can find a better deal.

Check the frame for rust really good. I personally wouldn’t pay that much for a used vehicle but if it’s solid then pause your judgement. Also have an independent mechanic check it out if possible

You are going to have a lot of questions coming! Where are you located, how does the frame look [rust], is it 4WD, condition?

Welcome to TW! Funny how I became the old fart. My grandad told me that the norm used to be any car that rolled 100k on the odometer was all used up and not even worth its weight in scrap iron. He marveled at cars reaching 150k or more. Growing up, I thought the same about cars that rolled 200k on the odometer.

Having said that, how much life is left in that car before it fetches the scrap iron price? That's a high ask for what I would wager the truck to have 80 to 100k miles remaining before it meets the crusher.

You must have gotten a Monday truck...
    ... after 3 day weekend
... because it was a drinking holiday
... and everyone returned to work hungover

HA! It's approaching 200K in Rustachusetts...I bought it used with 78K and cigar smoke permeating everything...it still smells like vanilla tobacco on hot summer days...and the seat has burn holes from his crotch cup ash tray...
Other than those few things, I do love my truck and want to drive it to 300K :)

I had my 2008 for 11 years, and it was pretty good to me. Only had to replace a few important things. The rust was becoming a concern though. There were some bolts that weren't going to come out in one piece.

There should be a New England stainless steel bolt package offered! Would be worth the extra cash.

Thank you everyone for the enormous amount of replies this is very helpful. Im located in Connecticut so I know that the harsh winters can be very rough on cars in general. I guess I was just curious if that price was in line with a comparable truck or if it felt too hight. Thank you all for your wisdom

In the south Texas market that thing would be waaay overpriced.
