Is that the wrong color? Yes it is.

Weird, the drivers side rear bumper cap is a different color than the rest of my new Cement TRD Sport. I actually didn't notice until I was looking at this pic taken with a low sun behind me, as this color can look different with the way the light hits it, went outside, yep that thing looks like a very metallic silver/gray color. Got an appointment at the dealer for Monday morning, hopefully it's not a long drawn out process to get it taken care of. Does Toyota do these things pre-painted? Looks like it's just a plastic cap over the steel bumper.

 

Looks like silver sky metallic on that bumper cap. Either someone screwed up at the factory and Installed the wrong one or somebody smashed the **** out of that side cap and put a spare silver piece on.

 

I'm betting on wrong part in the Cement bumper cap bin at the factory, and under a lot of lighting it's actually pretty hard to notice, I can see nobody catching it. Hell, I had the thing for 3 days before I noticed.

 

Might be hard to notice unless it's out in the sun. Different shades of gray can blend together in dim light.

Fun fact, Toyota works the employees at that plant for 14 days of night shift followed by 14 of day shift. My buddy always looks like a zombie now.

OP, the truck was likely on a fender bender at the dealer and they replaced the cap with the wrong color part.
