Is the 10 model typically a rough ride?

Just got my 2010 Tacoma Prerunner TRD Sport with 97K miles. When I brake it tends to shake a little, I figure it is probably the rotors. But just simple driving around town I feel like I feel most bumps in the road, when I get on the highway it is noticeably smoother. Is this normal for my model?

Shouldn't be a rough ride. Is it totally stock or have a lift on it?

Can you post some pics of the lift components (or list them)?. Chances are pretty good that's your issue.

I think the tires are too big as well... When I make sharp turns you can hear the tires rubbing against the fender

Might have a really rough riding lift.
    The tires might be overinflated.
The rotors/breaks probably need to be checked on as well.

I think they all ride a bit rough without major suspension upgrades. It only cost me about $3000 to get mine to an acceptable level :anonymous:

A picture of the actual suspension will tell us what kind of lift.

Can you post a picture of the shocks, coil springs, and UCA up front and the leaf springs and the shocks in the rear? That'll help us determine if that's your problem or not. Also again, check your PSI in your tires.

That's a pretty small top mount spacer. That's not going to make it ride any rougher. The way your truck rides is likely the way any other Tacoma rides without extensive suspension work.

Cough up some cash for a decent suspension or accept the way it currently rides. I did the former. Jury is still out if it was worth it, but the ride is much better.

I had something similar on my last truck and that along with overinflated tires, it made for a pretty rough ride.

I've never noticed a "rough ride" with any of the spacer lifts I've done. I've had them on 5 different Toyotas(2 Tacomas, 2 4runners and 1 Tundra)and they all rode the same before and after. It didn't improve the (shitty IMO)stock ride, but definitely didn't make it any worse. I'm a tire pressure weirdo so my tires are always spot on.

The current metal spacer on my truck is exactly the way you describe it. Hasn't changed the ride at all. But Ive found that the rubber bushing/spacer things always transmit bumps in the road a lot harsher than metal ones.

What should I do about the tires rubbing against the fender when I make sharp turns?

    Stop turning sharp

    What size tires?
    What offset wheels?
What is your caster set at?
    Do you have mud flaps?
    Where EXACTLY is it rubbing?
