I agree, there is a much bigger picture here than the gov sold the stock.

    And THEY didn't loose shit.

Who do you guys think paid for that?

Yeah it was all a bunch of BS. I don't know why people blame the car companies - they were just a big scape goat [read as: one of the fall guys]. People act like all this shit happened by accident. It's ridiculous.

Just a couple of issues with these "Trucks of The Year" from the other forum I am a member of (I also own a 2006 GMC Canyon).....

    Item #1

[IMG] Multiple issues on 2015 Colorado
I have a rattle coming from the back half of my new Colorado when the rear axle hits a bump or rut in the road. The sounds comes from the back right (passenger side) side of the bed, but not the left. Started happening at the 400 mile mark and has been chronically recurring ever since (now at 1300 miles). It might be the bed shaking, or it might be something else. I've heard from some of you on here already, but am I really the only one with this issue?

In addition to the above rattle, I've already had the alignment fixed (pulled right), the HVAC/cabin filter whistle fixed, hood bumpers and latch adjusted to reduce flutter (but it wasn't eliminated entirely), and complained about the squeaking brakes. More recently, I joined those of you with the steering wheel rattle.

I decided to go to my dealer today to resolve the open issues. I planned ahead to leave my truck with the dealer for the day and get a loaner. The loaner they gave me was a Chevy Cruz compact car--I'm 6'5" btw--as that was the only loaner available. Apparently, it was returned with an empty gas tank the night before. After waiting around while they figured out how to gas it up, I finally got the keys and off I went. The loaner stunk so bad from cigarette smoke that I drove to work with the windows and sunroof open in 35 degree weather, but my clothes still wreaked. I felt sick. Anyway, back to the dealer visit.

    Regarding the bed rattle:
I pick up my truck and first thing I ask about is the rattle. The service guy tells me the fender is so thin that the rattle sound I'm hearing is the body of the truck flexing when I hit a bump. Basically, it wobbles and causes the noise. Talk about total BS. The noise wasn't there when the truck was new and the noise only happens on one side. Plus no one else on this forum has reported this issue. I'm thinking something is loose on the truck, but then the dealer takes things a step further by saying the tech and service mgr drove another truck and noticed the same thing. No fix was offered.

    Brakes:
So now I still have the rattle, and what's more, the truck sounds different than before I took the truck in. I now have a slow rumbling noise when slowing to a stop. Might it be the ABS, i don't know? The dealer did replace my front brake pads, which eliminated the squeaking brakes, which I've had since day one of owning this truck. The paperwork I received stated the brakes were glazed. I asked the Service Manager about this and he said, "oh yeah about that, there's only so many reason codes we have to choose from, [so we picked that]."

    Hood flutter:
On the bright side, the dealer did find some kind of GM bulletin about the hood flutter and agreed to special order the sound deadening foam to remedy the flutter that the bumpers and latch adjustment didn't cure. On the flip side, I have to return to the dealer yet again.

    Steering wheel rattle:
Service guy told me the tech couldn't hear that obnoxious rattle in the steering wheel and said the noise must be coming from the hood flutter. I talked with the Service Mgr and insisted that he come for a drive. Once he heard the steering wheel rattle, he agreed they could look at it next time, when I come back for the foam. I was pissed, as I didn't want to make trip after trip! I told him to go ahead and order me a new steering wheel (this seemed to fix the problem for others). He agreed to do just that.

When I told the Service Mgr how disappointed I was about not fixing the bed rattle, he encouraged me to take it to another dealer.

I am going to try and take it to another dealer's service dept. I can't live with this constant annoyance that can't be fixed. I could understand a rattle coming from a 30 year old truck, but not a brand new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. I am starting to regret getting this truck.

    Item #2...............

Just an update - I got the truck back today. The service rep was extremely nice to me. It ended up taking 9 days to repair (owned it for 7 days before I had to take it in).

The service notes indicate the heater core was replaced. They found coolant leaking from the a/c ducts and the heater core. They removed the dash and replaced the heater core. They also removed the front seats to remove the carpet and dry the pad. They said a lot of coolant was on the floor pan. They dried it and steam cleaned the carpets.

The carpets look clean but the truck reeked of coolant on the way home. I anticipate that it may (hopefully) take only a few days to get that smell out. There were two large bolts left in the cupholder - a little worrisome. I looked around and couldn't find where they were supposed to go. I also noticed that a screw was missing from the glove compartment. Finally, you can see some gouging in the silver trim plate that wraps around the touchscreen where they must have inserted a tool to remove the trim.

I'll head to the dealership this weekend to see if they have the glove box screw in stock. Hopefully the coolant smell will go away. I doubt they will figure out where the missing screws go. I think I'm out of luck on that trim plate.

I'm really glad to get the truck back but I still have an uneasy feeling about something so new going through such substantial repair.

I think it is in the best interest of everybody that the colorado does not fail. Competition is good for lower prices as seen by the hefty price tag of a new tacoma.

The Colorado, really? Personally, I liked the inside of the Colorado more, compared to the 15 Tacoma. The drivers seat was way more comfortable and there was more space in the inside.

    here is my 2 cents

The colorado is a nice family car it is only a truck when you need it to be. Also it seems way too nice and not truck enough. About the sales.... most people avoid the 1st model year of a car because that is when the company works out the bugs in a new model so usually the second year is higher. Someone has pointed that put before. and yes chevy has had problems in the past with its trucks. *cough cough* chevy s-10 *cough cough*

For what it's worth, I just came back from a round trip drive to Florida from Virginia Beach with a stop in Charleston along the way. I was intentionally looking for new Colorado's or Canyon's on the road or at our stops along the way. I did not see any of them, not one. I'm sure I could have missed them, but thought I would see some. Kind of curious.

The GMC dealership nearest to me (that I drive by at least twice a day) has had several in the last month or so and they've all sold....apparently quickly. Every time I drive by the ones I saw a couple of days before are gone. A white double cab showed up a couple days ago. We'll see how long it lasts. Maybe GMC doesn't get as many as the average Chevy dealer...and it just seems like they go fast....IDK.

I have been trying to drive one and I can't even find a dealership with one in stock. The Toyota dealerships across the street are overflowing with Tacomas. So those sales numbers don't mean much.

Just drove by it today to gas up and they have a Gray double-cab now that looks like it just came off the truck, along with a few other vehicles....probably today. Dealership is not open so it hasn't even been touched. So they have the white one and gray one now.

The thing that shocks me is how GM was basically bragging up the presales of this truck while promising that they would have a few hundred thousand on the market by the end of 2014. So where are all of those trucks? They didn't just vanish, and they can talk all they want about fleet sales but I don't see a whole bunch of white bland company ones running around either.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
If they selling them than they are here. those couple thousand sells a month are taken from somewhere. You not going to see big difference on the street but thats just like Tacoma. When I bought my 2 gen in Nov 2006 nobody else around me had one.
Now after 10 years if I go to Home Depot there is 10 of them park near each other most of the time.
In 2006 however, it was a rare sight even after two years of them selling.

My point is that the presales numbers GM threw out there (somewhere in the 70,000 trucks ballpark) aren't matching up with the sales and shipping numbers. Draw your own conclusions, I don't understand it but I do get what you are saying to. That being said the Ford F150 just released there new truck and I see them all the time after 1 month of sales!

I work down the road from one of Ford's main dealer distribution lots here in Michigan. Before the F-150 went on sale this lot probably had 10,000 (rough guesstimate) F-150s already to be shipped off to dealers. This was back in November-Dec.
