Rolleyes. Have you ever been here before? So many out of towners think Detroit is Big 3 only, when in fact every Automaker has some Design, Testing, Legal, Manufacturing or Engineering facility here in MI. (my GF is a paralegal working at Hyundai America Technical Center). I see 50/50 mix of foreign/domestic cars on the roads everyday. But for Trucks 90% are domestics very few people around here drive tacos, frontiers, tundras, or titans. As a Detroit Native with zero ties to the Big 3 I'm not brand loyal to any automaker, toyota included! I drive whatever fits my needs the tacoma happens to be one for the time being. If I need a bigger truck chances are I would be driving a new F-150 over a tundra.

Also, I hate Hardcore Pawn with a passion! It paints a ugly picture of Detroiters since they deliberately scout the scummiest people and pay them nicely to act like a bunch fools on camera. No joke! I've been to the pawn shop it's nothing special.

Cool story bro. Sounds like Detroit is really booming :p.

I've only seen 3-4 Colorado's on the road locally, and all of those were on the same day. I've seen them again after that, but it's still the same 3 or 4 trucks. GM will keep these twins around as long as they sell well. If it hurts the Silverado sales at all, which the high price should prevent, or the sales dive off a cliff in the next couple of years then the Colorado will become a failed experiment.

    I did a peruse of the Colorado/Canyon forum. http://coloradofans.com/forums/114-2015-chevrolet-colorado-forum-2015-gmc-canyon-forum/

My .02 is there are some QC issues that are cropping up, water leaks into the cabin as you said. Looks like GM is putting a lot of effort into correcting the issues though.

I saw on Edmunds that the original front airdam was nearly impossible to remove because the hex end of the mount screws was only accessible from the TOP, not the bottom. GM swapped the fifteen screws around so the hex is accessible from underneath. GM is changing things on the fly. Completely new design, typical I guess.

I saw on the Chevy forum that some outfit Trifecta already came out with a tuner that is actually pretty nice for $300. Some flaws to it of course like any aftermarket tuner, but dyno tests showing +30 HP and torque gains. That could be appealing to some people.

Toyota on the other hand there probably won't even be an effective aftermarket tune available since they make it especially difficult to crack the ECU. The Tundra 4.7l V8 has a tuner available from Unichip for $600 that is effective, but apparently temperamental. I haven't had the balls to put it onto my Tundra.

don't know who posted heated mirrors are only good in the North/ winter whatever must not live in the deep south where dewpoints dictate eh, dew and my damn mirrors and windows are useless without me keeping a rag in my driver side cup holder for use most mornings. I almost did not buy my taco for this very reason. I don't think it's a deal breaker but it sucks nonetheless. Oh but still will not buy one of the new twins.... seen enough of them now, not truck looking at all. IMO

Just for the record. They are not at dealers in number enough to have choices. I looked at them and all I saw was one base model. So they are selling fast. Thats not a bad thing.

One of the biggest Chevy dealers in the area has only one on the lot. Couple hundred bucks below MSRP. Compare that to like 50+ Silverado 1500's.

I'm seeing more Colorado's on the road now, mostly quad cabs...dealership inventory is still crap. The quad cabs do look good, although I don't like the high lines on the bed. they're good looking trucks, but so is the Tacoma. The Colorado wheels and tires look tiny under the truck.

I don't know that the inventory is bad everywhere. I just quick looked at my small market Daytona Beach Chevy dealer and they 27 Colorados on the ground. Starting price 22k for a plain jane. Interestingly enough the first V-6 was 30k and two wheel drive LT trim. Z-71 two wheel, not 4 wheel drive are 33 and up. 4 wheel drive, they have a few and they were approaching 40k

Well, there isn't a single Chevy or GMC dealership within 300 miles of me that has more than a couple. From most people online that I've talked to, that's been pretty typical. Oh, I looked at Jon Hall Chevrolet's website. They are the largest Chevy dealer in Florida and it showed they had 20 in stock and none over $36k.

um, yes I was incorrect they show 22, but..... you have to click "show more vehicles" to see the rest

paste from the website: NEW 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
Crew Cab Short Box 4-Wheel Drive Z71
    MSRP $36,145

sorry if I said approaching 40..... I'm not a GM hater either, just sayin :)

yep they are ONE of the largest Chevy dealers in Florida.... keep in mind how big this state really is... and Daytona is by all accounts a small market... sorry if you haven't been to a big city but Daytona, yep, small market :( Good thing so we don't have MORE traffic LOL

I did, they had 20 in stock and 2 in transit

I really don't want to get into arguing semantics, so I leave that alone. I don't see an issue with the most expensive one being in the mid 30's.

According to their website, they are THE largest dealer in Florida. I'm not concerned with the size of market the dealership is in, I'm concerned with volume. I've been to plenty of big cities, and just because a dealer is in a large market, doesn't necessarily mean it's a high volume dealer. Some of the largest dealerships I've been to are in smaller markets.

    Agreed. http://www.davesmith.com/

Worlds largest CJDR dealer and largest GM dealer in the Northwest is only showing 6 Colorados available. Only 2 V6s and 1 Z71. Slim pickins.

And its North Idaho between Spokane, WA and Missoula, MT in the middle of nowhere in a "small" market.

I've seen a couple in Va, but just look at the ads SNF you know who they are trying to sell to. Young suburban guys who have a family but want a truck, urban lumbersexuals who want a truck to be so ironic they are cool, and young girls who think they are country cause they have a truck. Those who really need a truck for work/towing will go full size, and the smart people present company included will buy a real off road capable/ reliable Tacoma. So let them buy what they want, we just know which is the better vehicle, and we can option ours how we want to instead of the 3 levels that cost more then a fully loaded TRD off road. Sorry I just needed to rant, some of the students I teach can't wait to get one and I heard about it all afternoon.

I have seen exactly one on the road and one in someone's driveway so far. Both were white four door short beds. Come to think of it, the one I saw on the road was within a couple miles of that house so it's possible (probably likely) that it's the same one.

I friend showed me how he added Thule Racks and a spray in bed liner the other day to his new 15 Colorado. Nice..... But, what do I do ? Pull up next to him and show him my "old Taco's" composite bed with the integrated tie down rack amd the built in AC outlet..... the Thule Rack did look real good. Can't GM at least "copy" a few good ideas ?
