I love the truck but yeah, Toyota's support has basically been "Oh well". Rear diff was the best. Replacing them since it was an issue, then stopped and said "Oh well, not an issue". Haven't done dealer service on it, but the buying was decent enough for me.

Had a jeep (04) in the past. They're great off road, but not worth the headaches otherwise to own one. I will never own another Jeep.

A lot of people come into trucks not knowing how they drive, that's a big part of it. The tacoma has earned a following of us millenials for the appearance, they buy it and then regret buying a truck because...it's a truck.

First Tacoma for me. I wanted one when I got my previous truck, but couldn't afford one so I got an older Frontier. I was glad when I was finally able to get a Tacoma. I've had a lot of with it and I look forward to driving it every day.

The only thing that pulled me to the Tacoma was the adaptive cruise. Otherwise I'd have been in the frontier. For 15k less, drop in an android/apple HU for a couple hundred, and just suffer the mpg. Even though I'm only getting a shade under 17 with the Tacoma anyway.

Frontier is for sure the best value in the mid size market.

Agreed. But for me, this may be my only vehicle for the next 15 years. If I got a frontier there's a likely chance I'd also grab a highway monster with the adaptive cruise. So with that, the tacoma actually was the cheapest option (SR has it, ranger is XLT + Tech, so about 35k, ridge was top trim so like 45k new). I ended up in an Off Road, but that's aside the point ;)
