The Tacoma is definitely the better looking truck. The new Ranger is a little bland, like they were trying to pull in a few people who might otherwise buy a crossover. The reputation and resale of the Toyota weighed in heavily, but the fact that I couldn't get a double cab with a 6ft bed was the real deal killer for the Ranger.

I am definitely looking forward to the first opportunity to put it into 4wd. I think I might've aged out of driving rear wheel drive vehicles through New England winters. Though given that I just bought this truck AND a new snow blower I have to assume we won't see anything but a dusting this winter and I'll have no clue if either does the job they were meant to do.

    3. I find it easy not to get sucked into spending money on "truck mods." All I'm spending my money on is the things that I need to be able to use the truck how I want it. So I bought a bed cover and that's it. I don't believe in turbos, or superchargers, or suspensions or any of that crap for a truck. Trucks in general (including my Tacoma) drive like garbage, handle like garbage, brake like garbage, are slow like garbage and are ugly like garbage and no amount of money thrown into it will change any of that :puke:. I see no appeal to lift trucks or to lower them or any of that nonsense that goes on here or any other truck forums. Now that's my opinion and if there are TW members that think otherwise, well that's fine, you can deal with your mental illness however you want. This thing is just a utility to me and that's it. In the end I am a car guy not a truck guy. I play with cars and I use trucks.

Love the Tacoma but not Toyota anymore. Will be my last Toyota.
Frame issues. There is no excuse for that after 20 years.
3 months waiting for correct parts after I hit a deer.
Struts that seep while under warranty but now leak after warranty expires.
Bait you with service offers and turn you away when they cant stick you for more maintenance.
$7500 damage when I hit deer that walked away and truck barely made it back home.
Service department manager telling me to take my car to the dealership I bought it at when he saw I didn't buy it there.
Have a TRD grill in my SR and was told I voided my warranty because I installed a part that was not intended for my VIN Number.
Told the same thing when I replaced a headlight bulb that wasnt Toyota.

My first Tacoma. My first new truck. I have owned a couple other Toyotas though. I had an 87 2wd truck and also currently own a 1994 80 series LC. The truck was an awesome daily driver, bought it at an auction with 150k on it and drove it for another 60k then sold to a co worker. The LC I bought to turn into an overland rig. Decided I liked the idea of a pick up bed much better. Eventually will sell the LC to finance more mods and upgrades for the Tacoma20190411_180008.jpg 20170101_111135.jpg

This is my first Tacoma as well and I absolutely love it! 2020 Cement OR with all of the options. Traded in my Accord 6MT and fully intended on getting a Tacoma MT until I test drove one haha. Zero regrets going with the AT.

    1st Tacoma. 1st anything other than a Chevy. I’ve had ‘92,’02,’07,’10,’08 & ‘14 Silverados. Should’ve bought a Tacoma years ago. I’ll never go back.

    My first.

Vehicles were never a big deal for me until I got this. Was always more about buying my first house at 22 and my Harley and endlessly working on those. Wasn’t till I became single to think a nice ride for dates was a good idea. Love my truck and will be my vice till the next chapter (kids). Not a Person to half ass a lot of things, I usually give a lot to few things in my life at the time. Time and place for everything I guess

Yup, first Toyota and Tacoma. I tried to get a Taco back in '03 but my credit was so bad the toyota dealership could only get me into a 2000 Frontier desertrunner. Turned out to be a decent truck, drove it for 16 years on the same clutch. When it was time for a new vehicle I only wanted the Tacoma. 8 months in and i'm lovin it so far!

I've had rangers, S-10's, f-150, dodge 2500, silverado's and 2 Jeep wranglers. Not all were terrible but it was time for me to feel the Toyota difference. I love my TACO. It has coaxed more build money out of my wallet than both jeeps out together and with a smile. It is simple known as The YOTA around my house.
