Is the DCSB floorpan similar to the 2nd Gen?

So I have this thought, and question...

Can you guys that went from second gen to third gen Tacomas comment on the difference in the floorpans.

The wife and I are trying to start a family, Lord willing if it happens were ready to trade into a DCSB truck however if there was a remote chance that I could buy the all weather flooring from a 2014 or 15 and put that in a new 3rd Gen DCSB truck I would get a 2016 or 17 in a heartbeat otherwise I'm looking for a used 2014 or 15 DCSB.

What really has me wondering this is I went by the dealer yesterday and they had a bunch of access cab off-road models and the floorplan looks exactly the same as well as the seams to where the rear storage compartment is and where the hardware to bolt both the driver and passenger seat as well as the hinges to fold up the back jump seats things like that look really similar.

Unfortunately they are different. I'm not saying with a bit of cutting and trimming they wouldn't work - but who wants to do that?

Apologies, but it sounds like you're only willing to buy a '16 or '17 truck if the floor mats from a 2nd gen fit's into a 3rd gen truck? And if it doesn't, you're only interested in buying a used '14/'15 truck?

That seems like a strange prerequisite to me. But hey, it's your money.

The all weather package mats on the 3rd gen is only like a hundred bucks or so.

Honestly I'd rather just write the check for a used one,

And not the mats the actuall FJ style flooring. It was an option for 2012-2014 I think. They stopped in 2015 for whatever reason.

If we go 2016 or 2017 I would put a little bit down and finance a small amount to the credit union, it would just be so much easier to have all weather flooring instead of carpet in the truck for how much time we spend camping and also in the sand.

Everything that I'm gathering on the third GEN trucks really makes me want to make the jump to third GEN though, I've been hearing good reports about them being quieter on the road, and the fact that I can order an SR model which is everything I need really has me and the wife thinking third GEN.

I was hoping maybe they were close enough.

Not going to lie though I love my Bird Dawg Techdeck in my 2015, I have the hardest time thinking how would I mount my Samsung Note in a third Gen, lol...

OK, that makes more sense now. You want the whole flooring in rubber with no carpeting. I didn't know that was an option on the 2nd gen. Looks pretty sweet actually.

I came from a 2nd gen, and the cabin noise is much improved. I would drive both, and it should be pretty easy to decide which one you want. Before I bought my '16. I looked at maybe getting a used '15 to replace my '06, and the prices were so high that it made sense just to get a new truck. I'm really happy I did. I am really enjoying the new truck.

I feel you there man, a 2015 4 door with about fifteen thousand miles on it is $30,000, for 31K I can order an SR model and still get a tow package with a hitch and the black wheels like I want and I've got a 3rd gen.

    I haven't driven one, yet!

Sorry, but they are not. If you look at the 'all weather flooring' they are molded and creased specifically to the truck. You really think, you can put this on the 3rd gen? The seats, mount points, dash, console, are all different on the 3rd gen.

I have been comparing lots of interior floor pan pictures and they seem close.

The front seats seem to have the same bolt hole locations as do the rear...

I am praying they add it back in the 2017 models, lol...
