I was looking at buying this 2019 access cab 2wd. It got hit in the front left by someone that. Ran a red light. The problem is the driver side front tire is leaning out at the bottom and the passenger side is leaning in at the bottom. The front left tire is pushed in at the top causing the sidewall to hit the sway bar link. Also I drove it and it pulls hard to the right. I will attach some photos of the body damage. Is the frame bent?Screenshot_20250901_102636_Facebook.jpg Screenshot_20250901_102653_Facebook.jpg Screenshot_20250901_102702_Facebook.jpg

Your going to have to personally inspect the frame and decide for yourself. It could just be severely knocked out of alignment, the spindles could be bent, it could be the frame or a combination of all these.

If you dont have much mechanical and repair experience I'd definitely pass on this.

I'd probably skip this unless it was like 4000 dollars And hou think you can do the repairs yourself. Bent frames can be repaired but it could turn into a money pit in a hurry. Don't you think if it was easily repairable the seller would have done that already to be able to sell for top dollar?

I have no clue, but maybe Carnac can help.

PS: this is almost impossible to determine from your pictures. Get it looked at by a pro or take a chance. These are your paths.

Looking to buy? Owner already knows it's likely totaled or very expensive to repair but doesn't have the insurance to cover repairs so they are trying to pawn it off on someone else.

Maybe the TW resident collision repair technician will chime in and give you a complete answer.

    IMO pass on it!

You can't tell from 12 feet away looking at sheet metal.

They need to put it in a rack and take measurements.

Anyone here that tells you it is bent or it isn't bent is lying.

That's what I think like why wouldn't he fix it. He wanted like 11,900 I talked him all the way to 8k over messenger. As soon as I drove it I was like nope. Also it shifts like crap on the first 2 gears. Like the driver for the pest company floored it from every stop for 138k miles.

I thought it was a good deal when I negotiated down to 8k but as soon as it took off over to the right I just passed on it.

Anyone that willingly drops $4k off any price in a random Internet conversation means that they really want it gone, and for all the wrong reasons...

For $5ksale price with the potential for $8k worth of repair work, it doesn't look too bad. But it can't be a branded title to justify it.

Depends on what you need it for, but I'd take my chances with that truck at $5K! Probably just take a few bucks to get that thing up to "beater" status and then drive it like you stole it.

But as always, what the hell do I know?

PS: put that thing in a Home Depot parking lot with a $5K price tag and it would be gone faster than a pan of brownies at a pot party.

The remaining damage you see in the pics do not coincide with a hit on the left side & left alone, sold as is...
Its been repaired & ton of stuff isnt lining-up....
If he really wanted to sell it, ask for the repair estimate & damage report from the insurance company which he can easily provide you with...
That will spell it all out...
    No guessing, no games...

I just find it odd, vehicle ran a red light & smashed into the tacoma...
    Minimal fender damage...
    Minimal bumper damage....
But yet ls fender is pushed back so far where the door wont open without hitting the fender.
I think they took stuff apart & tried to make things look better, lipstick on a pig....

Yeah some guy just paid the 8k and bought it like a hour ago. Apparently the guy said he didn't see any frame damage. It was literally doing the splits on the front tires. Also in the description he said "runs and drives like new" haha.

id expect lower control arm mounts to be bent (which is actually a common issue when offroading) and bent spindles. the mounts can be bent back in place of cut off and completely replaced with a jd fab pivot kit. if this is all thats wrong then its not that big of a deal but i wouldn't consider buying till i looked at in person

And that folks, is how you dodge a flying bullet.

My favorite misrepresented statement in vehicle ad's is Michigan vehicles with jagged wheel arches and "rust free" in the description.
