After the frame recall inspection from 3 different dealerships, my 2006 double cab failed. Dealer is placing order for all parts. The first two dealers sailed that my frame passed but that it was close to failing, so I wasn’t comfortable with the spray coating. Has anyone else went to multiple dealers to have the inspection completed? With different results?

According to the dealer, new rear suspension is included in the recall, so my dakars can be reinstalled or I can have the new stock leafs put on and keep my old ones to be installed later. Anyone that has the frame replaced, did they replace the front struts? I have the LR UCA’s and hope to put the lift back eventually but if they do not replace the front struts with stock, I do not want a “bro-lean” and will have to reinstall the dakars on the rear.

How long has everyone’s wait been for the new frame? I am still driving my truck for the time being, and they said 5 months to get the new frame in. What have you all had replaced while the frame was being completed. I am thinking about replacing any bushings that can be done and possibly the fuel filter. Any other suggestions? Below are some pictures after the inspection.

Boy, they must have really lowered the bar, if that frame passed.

Mine's going in next week. It will be about 10 months by the time it's done. I'm replacing front springs, and new 5100's all around. Having them install the ECGS bushing as well, as any other suspension bushings, or wear items they find that need replacing.

No shit, the bar has significantly been lowered as that frame looks terrible. Can't believe that passed but you did the right thing being persistent. You'll have a new frame by next spring. :yay:

It sounds like they didn't know what they were doing. Any hole larger than 10mm is a fail. I got mine done. Total time 6 months from inspection to replacement, the frame installation takes 3-4 days. It includes rear leaf springs and lower control arms in the front. It does not include shocks. It may go faster now. They stopped doing them for a while because a wiring harness was backordered.

Yeah, I thought for sure it was a fail, but after two dealerships, I began to wonder. Luckily someone knew the procedure and failed it at the last dealership. Boy am I relieved, thought I was going to get a spray over this and they would call it good. A lesson for others out there, if you think your frame is close, keep trying.

But thanks for the info guys. Looks like I will have to have the dealership reinstall the front coil-overs and shocks I have currently. (Not a bad thing since they are eibach's with 5100's) I will definitely be getting new shocks for the rear as they are shot. I figured I would go ahead and get all the basic bushings and wear items replaced. Heck, why not. They told me it would take 5 months to get the frame, and roughly a week to complete the swap. Hopefully it doesn't take any longer that that but we will see.

Well my local scham dealer told me my frame was good even though there is pitting at the welded seams. And WOULD NOT even talk to me about the coating. Toyota corporate heard about this via email. But have yet to respond.
