Is the outside temperature sensor used for anything else?

    Does anyone know if the sensor for the outside temperature is used for anything other than that purpose? I'd like to tap into the sensor and use it for an aftermarket mirror with temperature display if possible but don't want to screw up anything else in the process. Thanks.
