In my personal opinion, the TRD Pro is an awesome truck and that’s why I got one. But modded Tacomas are sick as well.

    I’m so stoked my dudes!

“Best” is such a personal definition in this case.

I can see a couple of mods worthwhile on a Pro. Sliders and tonneau cover a prime. Most anything else, not really. Oh, and greaseable ujoints since Toyota doesn't install them anymore for some odd reason.

I'm buying mine in Utah, but when I get back to NM I'll have to pay 3% on the difference between the trade-in and the Pro. Annual registration is $80.

Cool. I'm getting a MT too. Trading in that awful AT OR. I wanted an ACC, but I'll take the DC just to get a MT.

I like the blue Pros too, but I live in the desert. White is the best when it gets up to 100.

Some dealers put higher markups on speciality cars at first, totally not expecting to actually sell it. They are more than happy to sell it at that price, but often the hope is to just have the car sitting on the showroom floor to generate attention and excitement. The higher markup keeps it on the showroom longer, and when they are ready to sell it, they drop the markup. This is why you can often find one dealership that has a markup, and then the next town over there is a dealership selling at MSRP.

I agree. I'm getting mine for 1500 over and consider it fine, especially since it was just built July 27 and has a MT.

And I towed one out with my winch just the other day. Offered me 50 bucks, but just laughed and told him to get a real 4X4. Then he got surly. Next time I'll leave him in the ditch.

MT is best. I even prefer it when off-roading. In 4-lo you won’t need a crawl control or any of that nonsense. The truck will creep just fine up and over stuff, and then going downhill it has tons of engine braking when in 4-lo. It’s awesome off road with the MT.

He probably got surly coz you were insulting. Just coz you helped the guy out doesn’t mean it’s cool to talk shit on his truck.

Well it sounds like the Pro is not for you. BTW, it doesn't have sliders and no tonneau. You can get the later as an option and not the former, so it sounds like it is even more off your list.
