I think you are generalizing an issue that isn’t about worrying about what other people spend, but more about whether a tricked out Taco is worth the extra money. Shouldn’t ever be a personal dilemma. Just people saying the extra stuff isn’t worth the money. That’s all.

If someone takes others spending personal that just silly.

Hah, you have no idea. Thank you! My '15 has only been gone for about 5-6 days, and I'm dying without a truck. Doesn't help that it's been 100+ here every day, and my 911 doesn't have AC, so I've been dying for a couple of reasons.

I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
I paid 2k more than the OR siting on the lot. Less than the Limited there. and barely 2k more than the used OR on the lot that I originally went to buy. So not sure about these numbers come from. KBB says the truck is worth 2k less than I paid over a year ago. I'm happy either way.

The fox suspension was fun until I added weight and then had to swap it for HD. Its a trim level and nothing more. Who cares really? They could have called it the fairy edition and I would have bought it. I liked all the crap. Those Fox shocks paid for most of my suspension upgrade. Sold the Rigids and tires, so I think I've done pretty good on swapping stuff.

Last piece is on the way but I may be selling soon....so if someone wants to save a butt load over prices posted here, let me know.

if you go Pro just don't pay any markups. I think it's been out long enough it should be sold under MSRP but dealers are going to do their tactics.

I found 2 dealers (within a 5ish hour drive) willing to sell Pros at MSRP. Every other dealer within that same 5 hour drive (about 4 in total) all wanted 4-5K over MSRP.

be sure it's in writing too and in fact give a deposit so it's locked in. That's a long drive for them to sell it to someone else.

Both are already done. Just have to drive out there tomorrow afternoon to sign and give them the rest of my down payment.

TRD OR AT with premium and tech MSRP $40,360

    TRD pro AT MSRP $43,720.

So yes, paying $10-12k more is not a good idea.

Does the Pro come with JBL and all that other electronic wazzoo ninja shit?

My "basic" 2017 Sport DCSB MT was 32,400 in Dec 2016 and my salesman at the time said the pro was near $50,000. I really had no idea what the Pro was then, but I remember thinking who the heck would spend 50g's on a Taco let alone 32g's like I did :anonymous:

EDIT: corrected my piss poor grammar, typing, & English...

The PRO is a better overall value than the SR5 and Limited, especially in my area. Dealers take SR5's and add on all sort of bs and jack the price up to $40k. At the end of the day it's still an SR5 with mods that are way marked up.

You can bargain off the price of the Off Road but you will probably be stuck paying MSRP for the Pro, $5K or $6K is probably a more realistic spread in price.

Does your 911 not have AC, or does it have factory AC that famously doesn't work no matter what you do to it? :p Guessing you have a 911SC?

Base model Off-road/Sport/SR5 would be a better deal then PRO in my opinion.

If I was adding on all of the tech/premium stuff I would most definitely consider a PRO.

Pros are selling under MSRP in Upstate NY. Guess the demand for an overpriced truck that will rust in 5 years isn't their.

If you drive an expensive truck (diesel) up this way its not uncommon to store them for the winters.

I was looking at a Tacoma PRO on the LOT with an asking price of $45K and I know my dealer was willing to discount. The Tacoma I picked up was a 2018 TRD OR Double Cab 6Foot bed with the Tech Package and extras installed. Long story short, I was able to negotiate over $6K off a near $39K sticker. Seems like a good time to buy is now...

964 that the PO removed the compressor and cut the lines to shave weight. Contemplating putting it back in though

True. When I bought my SR they had 2 of the exact same model. I bought the factory one. The other they added a rough country block lift, wheels, tires and steps - and marked it up $7k if I remember right.

how about resale value. I think a "stock" pro will resell higher vs an OR that has been upgraded to the level of a pro. (Function wise)

No question it'll be much higher. Depending on the mod, they have the potential to decrease the value.

Depends on your situation. I’m mine: my free time has a higher value than th amount of disposable income it would have taken to church-up an OR. There is also something to be said for resale. The only “mods” I’ll make are wheels and audio...

    And *maybe* a supercharger...
