New to the forum but the 1st gen moon roof are designed to be taken out. You just pinch the silver pins on the latch, unhook the clip on the side and pull it up and out.

Yep, that's in the manual as well. Had to do this recently to replace the sunroof seal.

I saw a fully loaded '95 Tacoma at the junkyard the other day with the factory OEM sunroof. I'm tempted to take a sawzall to the roof and take it. :sawzall:

Pretty sure vinyl headliners are a base model thing. My 96 taco 5 Lug has a vinyl headliner.

I've heard the term "unicorn" referenced several times in the past on this forum. So by having an OEM moonroof/sunroof makes your taco a unicorn?

I thought I recall several years ago reading a thread either on here or on TTORA where it described having a combination of features made your taco a "unicorn." So by reading this thread I'm taking it that by ONLY having an OEM moonroof/sunroof makes it a unicorn?

It's just a term to describe something that's rare... so having a sunroof on a first gen was a rare feature.

My 2000 ext cab SR5 4x4 had a factory sunroof. Loved having it. Wish my 2nd gen had one in it.

I still have the sunroof cover for mine.
