I have a very solid idea of what Taco I want to get, and it's a very specific combination or model, configuration, options and color. The "build" section of the Toyota is good, and I know that the combination I want is possible, but I have punched in Zip Codes all over the northeast trying to find what I want to no avail.

Should I talk to a dealer about finding one someplace? I want exactly what I want and don't want to be swayed or talked into something else. I was hoping to fine one somewhere nearby so I know it's actually available before going to a dealer.

That feature only let's you build something that is sitting on a dealer lot or in transit to a dealer lot in the sales region that your zip code resides in.

If it can be built but isn't available for sale, it won't let you build it. If you can build it, it's available somewhere.

Depends where you live and what model you want. In California you'll never see a 4x4 in a dealers lot because they're all pre-sold months before they're even built. Calling them doesn't help either since they'll always have them in stock until you arrive. Best to tell them what you want and play the waiting game.

Things seem to be loosening up in my area. Perry Motors in Bishop, CA, has had three Off Road's and one Sport sitting for a couple of weeks now. Earlier this year it took them a month to get my Off Road.

If you find one on line be sure and print out the price sheet and take it in to the dealer with you. That way they wont be able to raise the price on you when they see your eyes bugging out to take the truck for a test drive.

What options are you looking for?

All you can do really is get the model # and option codes and have a dealer or car seller(Truecar..etc) try to locate one.

    Too few to list.
If you're in SoCal, Miller Toyota in Anaheim seems to have this model in stock most of the time.

Here were the steps I did to confirm Toyota website inventory.
    1. search your configuration on Toyota.com
    2. used autotrader and cars.com to see dealers inventory
    3. search dealer websites inventory
    good luck

Fellow NYC person here, seems like in this region the JBL audio comes with the MGM, BR, and BBP colors only, or at least when I was looking. I can recommend you to a good dealer in Long Island if you want. PM if you want.

Why did the Koons salesperson have his posts removed? Seemed helpful to me.

I'm in the same boat right now.
I have a very specific build I want to get.
Toyota does not have one in their "National Inventory" and I can't find it in Autotrader, cars.com, etc.
My dealer is currently looking for one now, and if they can't locate, we'll be ordering it as a 2017 model, arriving sometime in October.
