I couldn't pass up the 40% off and had to go for it. Looking forward to getting it on and seeing how the sound has changed once it's broken in.

Is it really necessary to replace the gaskets when doing this install? Perhaps it would depend on their condition...

    Mine looked fine.

Also, leave the bubble wrap on the tip until you’re done with the install. Lots of ways to scuff it up trying to finangle it over the axle.

What was the final price you got? I checked yesterday and just saw the list price then figured it wasn't on sale. What savings did I miss out on?
(I test drove one with the TRD exhaust and liked the sound better than the stock exhaust on the truck I eventually bought.)

$465 after the 40% off, plus a little extra in tax. I went with the black chrome one, so it was an extra $75 for that.

That's a good price. I'd get the black chrome too. My truck has the $90 OEM black tip now and I like the look. Gotta figure out how I can get that same deal now...

WD-40 for rubber hangers. Makes life much easier and then just push them with the back end of a ratchet or something blunt.

Oh man its 2020 wonder if they will have the 40% off the TRD parts again. I'm looking to grab this exhaust...Taco only has 800 miles on it.

None of the videos do it justice. With the trd intake and the exhaust broken in, it's absolutely not the same. I love it, its smooth with a nice howl to it at the right rpm, i hear it in the cabin but it doesn't drone. I wouldn't pay full price, get it on a deal to make it worth it, same with the intake since they are just noise makers. I don't regret it whatsoever. I do have a manual transmission though and from what I understand, that makes a world of difference in how much and how often you hear it. I hear it every shift and love the howl when going up on ramps.

People love to hate on them but I've had loud stuff, i don't want that anymore. I want some decent sound without seeming like I'm trying to make a 3.5 V6 sound like something it's not.

Question is: is it worth it to you? I have the MBRP. When brandy new it was embarrassing. Broken in it's sweet sounding. Gets lots of compliments. And my wife aboslutely hates it. So for me, worth it. The TRD is for saying "Oh hey. I have TRD". Is that your aim?

Here's an alternate reason I'm not sure if anyone has thought of. Take a look at that side by side comparison and note the seam on the side of the stock exhaust. Over time that seam will corrode and start to split. That seam sits right next to the frame and the gasses emitted will begin to melt away the protective coating on the frame and cause corrosion to start there. It sounds like a stretch, but I have seen videos on this exact thing happening with 2nd gens and noticed the 3rd gens have the exact same alignment of the exhaust going on.
