I've tried a Google search, last news about Tacoma being moved to Mexico plants were prepandemic, also that the TRD Pro was being exclusively made in San Antonio TX.
Anyone has any news about it?
I currently have a 2021 TRD Sport Premium M/T manufactured in TX and I ordered a 2022 TRD Pro M/T for the lockers and Atrack but I would hate it if its made in Mexico and not in the US.
    Thank you kindly

Outside of the VIN number and a sticker in the door jam, there is no difference between a Tacoma assembled north or south of the border.

Workout looking it up, therefore strictly opinion, it makes no sense that one single trim will continue to be made at a plant when all other iterations were migrated to a different facility. If they are still made in San Antonio this year, they probably won't be for long.

Also, plant location makes absolutely zero difference, be it US, Japan, Mexico, or the Moon. Toyota is Toyota is a Toyota. They all follow the same 5S / Six Sigma / 14 "Toyota Way" methods of management. They don't lax up on those rules just because the building pays taxes to a different government.

While I was living in TX back in July 2021, I personally saw a 2021 Taco Lunar Mist TRD PRO that I sold a guy my sofa - when he came to pick it up I asked him if he knew if his truck was made in TX or Baja - we both looked at the door tag and sure enough....Baja MeX. I always thought the TRD Pro trucks were all built in San Antonio.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
The only noticeable difference is the Baja California tacos have the bumper alignment issue.

    Seriously?
Obviously there’s less built in freedom in the Mexican built trucks.

My 2017 TRDOR was built in Mexico and it's been fine. Shortly after I bought it I was told by another dealer that all manual transmission Tacoma's were built in TX. I don't know if things have changed since then, but all Tacoma's are assembled from the same parts bins and come with the same warranty should you have any issues.

BTW, Toyota isn't the only manufacturer to build their vehicles in Mexico. GM and Dodge build some there too. Not much is made in America these days and many companies outsource various aspects of their business. Stoptech for instance, machines their rotors in USA, but they're cast in China. Have you shopped for a major appliance like a fridge lately? No matter the brand most are made in the same factories in China or Korea and share a lot of the same buttons and parts.

My 2020 pro has a sticker of 08/20 and was built in Texas (VIN starting with 5).

Not sure when Toyota fully moved Tacoma production to Mexico.

My 2019 AC was built in Texas. I noticed an AC at my local dealer recently said Baja. I'd take it that they're all now Baja.

Cheaper labor costs, less strict laws, fewer employee rights, and cheaper income taxes. Why does any company outsource?
