Heres a nice truck from Mexico I saw a month ago. They drove up here to build apartments in Oklahoma. When I was taking these pics the guy was real nervous but when we started talking about trucks we were friends very quickly. I got no problems with anyone willing to work hard to get ahead.

I guess based on your response that if you had a choice to purchase a Tacoma built in Japan versus Mexico you would let the dealer decide for you? Interesting. I would always choose a Japan made Toyota over any other location just as I would a Mercedes from Germany than elsewhere. I’m a career engineer/ operations and there’s always a difference, even if it’s labeled Toyota Production System.

The worst Toyotas ever were made in Japan, as were their very worst engines. Never forget that.

This should answer the few “why does it matter questions as well.” I know it’s silly because of the massive amount of chicom products in circulation but…doesn’t mean anyone should be happy about that. There are plenty of hard working people in the US who would want to work at a factory.

San Antonio is like 99.9% Hispanic so a Mexican is putting it together either way

Not going to happen for as low as they can pay employees in Baja Mexico.

The average household income in Baja Mexico is $10,116 a year, in San Antonio, it's $52,455 a year.

It should be no surprise that outsourcing is a trend... In 2019, GM said its average hourly worker earned around $90,000 in wages, overtime and profit sharing. One item of good news is that Tesla can build a car in 10 hours in the USA while in Europe VW spends about 30 hours to assemble a vehicle.

This! Steve Perry built my old Merc! A few years ago I had an AMG with the engine badge engraved with the builder's signature to prove it!
