F no. I’m at 109k on my Tacoma. Nothing other than fluid changes and tires. Just did spark plugs this summer.

You have to figure the accountants are crunching the numbers to figure out what is going to be in their best interest in order to make a profit. I know their math prowess is better than mine, so know that they'll likely be coming out ahead no matter how good a deal it may seem.

I would get it when you donthe math its such a small percentage of what its worth 30-50k idk what you paid, just pretend its part of the sale, I just read a thread right now that this guy bought an 18 taco from a used dealer and hes only had it 3 days and the pos tranny broke and the car shut off, I would get it.

I added it to my purchase. $1950 to cover bumper to bumper 10yrs, 150k miles, waived deductible. Msrp was $3600...likely wouldn’t if the truck didn’t have all the tech (advanced tech package, computer sensors, etc)

on a side note, it is transferable and prorated returnable, but the kicker for me was I could have any shop do the warranty work and Since i have a shop, we can do the work.

I sleep better with one. I’ve used it on other vehicles, transmission, ecu, ABS system. The only Toyota I’ve used it on was a transmission on my son’s Scion. $3500. Paid $0. It’s absolutely in the favor of the dealership until you need it or wish you had it. Like other people said, I’d get it in two years before the original runs out. $1200 is cheaper than 3k at that point BUT if your keeping it stock and well maintained you’ll be fine... I like my sleep and sometimes sleep costs money. Just like insurance for my house.

Also recommend to shop around. It's also refundable and as far as I know can be purchased from out of state dealers as well.

I used to sell cars and I’m here to tell you no. You remember that $2k you just negotiated off the price of the truck? They just got it back. The factory warranty should be fine, chances are you will fight to even honor that extended warranty. Not to mention most people won’t even keep a vehicle that long

Most of you guys are sales nightmare. Basically what I’m seeing is you are fighting for your drive out price and laying down once you get to F&I. You went Toyota shopping because it’s a reliable vehicle. You’re getting sold in f&I because your guard is down. You were prepared to fight the salesman but finance is the one that really fucks you.

Don't buy extended warranty yet...put the $2700 in the bank, add a little to it each month (if possible). Depending on problems with the truck make a decision before the factory warranty runs out. I'm betting you'll have plenty in that account when OR if needed.

    I was able to purchase a Toyota Platinum warranty(5 year - 100k) for $665.00.
At this price an extended warranty is worth it. I would never pay $2500.00 for one.

I bought my Tacoma with the minimum tech to begin with. If something went wrong with, say, the cruise control, I wouldn't get it repaired because I don't use it anyway. (And since I don't use it, I wouldn't even know there was something wrong with it.)

The salesman tried to justify the extended Toyota glass warranty -- since regular insurance normally pays for glass replacement -- by saying that recalibration of the sensors is needed after glass replacement, and that's not covered by insurance. What a crock. If I'm driving around with miscalibrated sensors, what do I care? I don't use that sensor functionality anyway.

If you do buy a warranty, be sure it's genuine Toyota, not a 3rd party product.

BTW, at the price your dealer is trying to shag you for, I'd be looking over my deal on the vehicle really closely. Birds of a feather and all that................

No the dealership warranty is not worth it call your car insurance company they should offer extended warranties for a lot less than the dealership

Does the toyota warranty include all fluid changes? It did with mine, which covers over half of the cost of the warranty.

Sage advice. The truth is most people don't save enough, period. Stashing a % of your pay check automatically into savings is one of the smarter financial decisions you can make.

Suspect that's a dealer add on. Never heard of such a thing in a 'real' warranty.

Sometimes they'll offer a 'iifetime' 3rd party warranty that requires all services to be done at the dealer to keep warranty valid.

Sometimes they'll say the warranty is 'free' (it's in the vehicle price)

Possibly, could be a Canadian thing too. Otherwise i'd have skipped the warranty
