Usually they give you an aluminum washer. If you want something better than that it is my recommendation that you use a drain plug crush washer made by Nissan. Those things are awesome.

When the gaskets stick to the oil pan as they often do it can be a pain in the ass removing them and 'IF' you don't remove every piece then they can cause the new gasket to leak. I've been changing oil in multiple vehicles for about 44 years and have rarely replaced an oil drain plug gasket and have NEVER had one leak. I can't even imagine how many times I have changed oil in my 414,000 mile '96 Tacoma.

Even in the SMALL chance one does leak, it's only going to drip slightly. If that happens I will notice in my drive and and address it. It's not like the drain gasket is going to disintegrate and dump all 6 quarts, blowing up the engine. And it's not going to eventually make my oil pan bolt loose by reusing it as I will replace it long before it gets to that point.

Awesome, then keep reusing your gaskets. I've never had one stick on any machine and it's about 25 cents to replace. Comes off easy.
